Four-Lane Greenfield Corridor to Emerge as New Catalyst for Development of Ujjain–Sanwer–Indore Region: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that development projects worth ₹5,657 crore have been dedicated today to the people of Indore, Ujjain, Sanwer and surrounding regions, marking a historic moment for the state. He stated that the foundation stone has been laid for a direct road connecting Pitreshwar Mahadev in Indore to Baba Mahakal in Ujjain. The project will further connect Pithampur and the Nimar to the Delhi–Mumbai Economic Corridor, creating a significant pathway for economic prosperity in the region. The Chief Minister said that the State Government reduced the height of the corridor in response to farmers’ demands, ensuring easier local connectivity and movement for them. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also recalled that in ancient times, saints, seers and devotees used to travel on foot along this route throughout the year. He described the Greenfield Corridor as a new symbol of development for the Ujjain–Sanwer–Indore region and a major gift to the state in preparation for Simhastha 2028.
The approximately 48-km-long four-lane Greenfield Corridor will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹2,935 crore. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, along with Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Corridor at Chandrawatiganj in the Sanwer Assembly constituency on Saturday. They also distributed benefits under various welfare schemes and handed over helmets to beneficiaries.
Greenfield Corridor to Usher in a New Era of Development
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the corridor will begin from the Pitra Parvat area in Indore and extend to the Simhastha Bypass near Chintaman Ganesh Temple in Ujjain. Once completed, it will significantly
improve connectivity between Indore and Ujjain, reducing travel time and facilitating smoother movement. It will also provide major convenience to the lakhs of pilgrims expected during Simhastha. He stated that Fatehabad and Chandrawatiganj have historically been important centres of trade and commerce between Indore and Ujjain. The Greenfield Corridor will emerge as a new engine of growth and development and will serve as a new dawn for the proposed Indore–Ujjain Metropolitan City. The metropolitan region, spread across nearly 16,000 square kilometres and encompassing Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Dhar, and Ratlam, will include six railway junctions, two airports, four airstrips and two major highways. The Chief Minister said that road infrastructure plays a crucial role in the development of industry, trade, agriculture, employment and overall economic growth. He also announced that Fatehabad is set to receive the benefit of a railway double-track project.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further stated that the State Government has launched a Helmet Safety Campaign to enhance the safety of two-wheeler riders. He emphasised that helmets play a life-saving role during road accidents. As part of the campaign, helmets were distributed by the Indore administration during the event.
₹51 Cr Released to 20,000 Traders under PM SVANidhi Scheme
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a range of development projects under various schemes. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban),
foundation stones were laid for more than 42,000 houses worth over ₹2,548 crore, while housewarming ceremonies were conducted for 38,000 completed houses constructed at a cost of ₹992 crore across the state.In addition, 116 projects worth ₹446 crore were inaugurated, and foundation stones were laid for 37 projects valued at ₹310.82 crore. A total of ₹51 crore was also released to 20,000 small traders under the PM SVANidhi Scheme.
The programme also witnessed the inauguration of sewerage and drainage projects under the AMRUT 2.0 Mission, along with the provision of vehicles and equipment for 36 fire stations.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Gau Mata occupies a central place in Sanatan culture and serves as a source of pride for society. He stated that the State
Government has resolved to establish Vrindavan Villages and Geeta Bhawans across the state. The Chief Minister further informed that ₹1,500 is being deposited into the bank accounts of Laadli Behna beneficiaries before the 15th of every month.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav referring to 2026 as the Krishak Kalyan Varsh, said that the State Government has taken several farmer-friendly decisions. Madhya Pradesh has set a national record by procuring the highest quantity of wheat from farmers. Wheat was procured from nearly 1.375 million farmers, who received payment at the rate of ₹2,625 per quintal.
India Has Established Distinct Global Identity Under PM Shri Modi’s Leadership
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during the twelve years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has established a distinct identity both nationally and globally. He stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh became the first state in the country to be declared free from Naxalism. Referring to previous decades, he remarked that there was a time when political considerations prevented decisive action against Naxalism. He said that by eliminating Naxalism, the nation has settled all accounts with those who sought to undermine democracy.
The Chief Minister further noted that terrorism has been effectively eradicated from the country and that the Government of India is ensuring the security of both the nation’s internal environment and its borders.

Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal Khattar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired the nation to pursue development while preserving its heritage and Madhya Pradesh is
advancing rapidly on this path. He praised the outstanding Smart City initiatives undertaken in Ujjain under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and described him as a visionary leader who would take Madhya Pradesh to greater heights.
Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal emphasised that without cultural heritage, a nation’s pride loses its meaning. He said continuous efforts are being made to strengthen Ujjain’s position as one of the country’s foremost centres of faith and spirituality. He highlighted the transformational development carried out under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership at Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the grand Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya and Kedarnath Dham. He also noted that several unprecedented achievements have been accomplished during the Prime Minister’s twelve-year tenure.
According to Shri Khattar, India is today providing leadership to the world. Free housing, food grains and LPG connections have been provided to millions of poor and needy citizens and nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty over the past twelve years.
Devotees will Perform Rituals and Take Holy Dips in Clean Waters of Kshipra During Simhastha 2028
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is working with complete commitment to organise a grand and divine Simhastha 2028. He informed that the construction of ghats along the Shipra River in Ujjain is progressing rapidly. Devotees attending Simhastha 2028 will be able to perform rituals and take holy dips in the clean waters of the sacred Shipra River. Minister Shri Silawat also noted that farmers in 54 villages of the Sanwer region are benefiting from irrigation through Narmada waters and efforts are underway to extend Narmada water supply to every village in the area. He said that the State Government is committed to the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ and is working for the welfare of every section of society.
