Three Grand ‘Waste to Art’ Welcome Gates to Be Built at a Cost of ₹5.36 Crore

Jaipur, July 2026: In line with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s vision of a Developed Rajasthan, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is undertaking a major initiative to enhance the city’s cultural identity, tourism appeal, and urban aesthetics. JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan announced that three grand ‘Waste to Art’ themed welcome gates will be constructed at the city’s key entry points, reflecting Rajasthan’s rich culture, traditions, and vibrant folk heritage.

The proposed welcome gates will be installed at three prominent locations: the Delhi Kunda Mod–Amer Road, the Ghat Ki Guni Toll Plaza, and Ganga Marg, opposite the proposed New Jaipur development.

Each gateway will feature a unique theme inspired by Rajasthan’s cultural traditions:

• The Delhi Kunda Mod gateway will depict the traditional Rajasthani greeting “Khamma Ghani,” symbolising the state’s renowned hospitality and warm welcome to visitors.
• The welcome gate at Ghat Ki Guni Toll Plaza will be designed around the iconic Leheriya pattern, representing Rajasthan’s colourful cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and folk artistry.
• The gateway on Ganga Marg, opposite the proposed New Jaipur, will feature artistic sculptures of men and women dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, welcoming visitors with the spirit of “Padharo Mhare Des” (Welcome to Our Land), embodying the state’s enduring tradition of hospitality.

The project has an estimated cost of ₹5.36 crore, covering civil construction, electrical works, and horticultural landscaping. The tendering process has already commenced, and construction is expected to begin once the bidding process is completed. The JDA aims to complete all three welcome gates within six months.

According to the JDA, the initiative will not only transform Jaipur’s major entry points into visually striking landmarks but will also promote environmental sustainability through the creative reuse of discarded materials under the “Waste to Art” concept. The project is expected to offer domestic and international tourists an immediate glimpse of Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage, warmth, and the timeless tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava” (The Guest is God) as soon as they enter the Pink City.
