Tricolor Hoisted for the First Time in Jatlur, Abujhmad
ITBP Celebrates 77th Republic Day with Villagers
Raipur, January 2026: For the first time, the Indian tricolor was hoisted in Jatlur village of Abujhmad’s remote forest region as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, organized in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere with the support of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The event was led by Commandant Mr. Roshan Singh Aswal and organized by Assistant Commandant Mr. Ram Kumar Maurya, Commander of the E-COB Jatlur.
On this occasion, the flag was hoisted alongside schoolchildren and local villagers, and sweets were distributed to all attendees. This was followed by a community feast at the ITBP camp premises, attended by more than 150 villagers from Jatlur and Harvel villages, who enjoyed the meal together. The initiative created a palpable sense of happiness and belonging among the residents.
It is noteworthy that the E-COB Jatlur camp was recently established by the ITBP under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the efforts of Home Minister Vijay Sharma. Since the establishment of the camp, the local villagers have gradually become more connected to the mainstream of the nation. The ITBP provides villagers with free primary medical facilities, and a drinking water stall and seating arrangements have been set up in front of the camp, offering relief to people traveling from distant areas.
Villagers have expressed that this sensitive initiative by the security forces has brought positive changes to their lives. The entire arrangement is a result of the dedication, enthusiasm, and service spirit of the officers and personnel of the 38th Battalion ITBP.
