CM Lays Foundation Stone for ₹950-Crore Phase-I ‘Shakti Corridor’ at Ambaji

Gandhinagar, February 2026: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel laid the foundation stone for various development works worth ₹950 crore under  the phase one of the Ambaji Corridor at Adhyashakti Dham Ambaji, to be constructed at an estimated total cost of ₹1,632 crore.

Keeping future tourist requirements in focus, a visionary master plan worth ₹1,632 crore has been developed for the Shakti Corridor in Ambaji for the next 25 years.

The foundation stone laid by CM for the first phase of the Ambaji Corridor will soon offer pilgrims a range of tourist amenities, including multi-level parking, an underpass road, Yatri Niwas pathway, Divya Darshan Chowk, Shaktipeeth, an amphitheatre, and a light-and-sound show.

On this occasion, CM stated that, inspired and guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi—a devoted follower of Adhyashakti—the holistic and futuristic development of Adhya Shakti Peeth Ambaji is underway.

Cabinet Ministers Shri Pravin Mali, Dr Jayram Gamit, Shri Kamlesh Patel, Swaroopji Thakor, along with MLAs of Banaskantha district and other dignitaries, joined the CM for the ground-breaking ceremony of these multiple development works.

CM said that with the mantra of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi,” Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has undertaken efforts to honour Adhyashakti and renovate pilgrimage sites nationwide, starting from the Somnath Swabhiman Parv.

Under his leadership, the development of sacred sites such as the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok, Kedarnath, and Baidyanath Dham has gained a new identity. Historic milestones—including the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the hoisting of the flag at Pavagadh after five hundred years—have also been achieved.

CM further stated that the Prime Minister’s vision for the development of Ambaji Dham, which holds a special place among the 51 Shakti Peeths, is being steadily realised. He noted that the 51 Shakti Peeth Parikrama Mahotsav is organised successfully every year, enabling lakhs of devotees for darshan, with over five lakh devotees participating in the most recent Parikrama Mahotsav.

He added that, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of integrating pilgrimage development with tourism, the country’s largest light-and-sound show has been launched at Gabbar in Ambaji, while pilgrims are being provided with new facilities through initiatives such as the Parikrama Path and the Cultural Village.

CM said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Ambaji–Taranga rail project will enhance regional connectivity, leading to improved facilities for pilgrims and accelerated local economic development.

He further added that the Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board has so far completed development works worth crores at various pilgrimage sites across the state, with several more projects planned for the future.

On the occasion, Minister Shri Pravin Mali stated that Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel is steadfastly advancing the mission initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the restoration and development of sacred pilgrimage sites. He added that the state government is fully committed to the comprehensive development of Ambaji Dham—a confluence of Aastha (faith), Sanskruti (culture), and (Power) Shakti—and that the government’s grand and farsighted planning will be remembered by future generations for years to come.

Minister Dr Jayram Gamit stated that lakhs of devotees visit Ambaji Shakti Peeth every year for darshan during the Bhadarvi Poonam Maha Mela. Taking into account this deep-rooted faith of the devotees, the government will transform Ambaji through the ₹1,632-crore Mega Corridor project. He added that these historic development works will not only provide world-class facilities to devotees but also generate substantial local employment, giving fresh impetus to Banaskantha district’s economic development.

The event was attended by Tourism Secretary Shri Kuldeep Arya, Member Secretary of the Yatradham Board Shri Ramesh Merja, District Collector Shri Mihir Patel, District Development Officer Shri M.J. Dave, the Sarpanch of Ambaji, and various other officers, office-bearers, and a large number of people.
