Chief Secretary Issues Directions on Cyber Crime Control in the State

Public awareness and technological strengthening will help curb cyber crimes – Chief Secretary

Jaipur, February 2026 : Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas stated that the State Government is making continuous, coordinated and effective efforts to prevent cyber crimes in the state. From increasing public awareness to taking strict action against cyber criminals, all measures are being implemented in a well-planned manner. He directed all concerned departments to prepare detailed action plans in this regard and ensure their time-bound implementation.

The Chief Secretary was addressing a meeting on cyber crime control held at the Secretariat on Monday. During the meeting, progress made by various departments on cyber security-related initiatives was reviewed and necessary directions were issued. He also sought details of the functioning of the Cyber Cell at the State Forensic Science Laboratory and instructed that the process of establishing cyber cells in regional laboratories be completed at the earliest to further strengthen technical investigation capabilities.

It was informed in the meeting that extensive awareness campaigns are being conducted to curb emerging cyber crimes such as “digital arrest.” Additionally, cyber help desks have been set up across the state to provide prompt assistance to the public. The Chief Secretary directed that special efforts in this direction be further intensified.

Emphasising greater coordination among banks, telecom service providers and concerned departments, the Chief Secretary stressed continuous monitoring of suspicious accounts, effective use of AI-based technologies, and ensuring the security of digital transactions. He also instructed that regular awareness programmes be organised in schools, colleges and other educational institutions to educate the public about cyber crimes.

Senior officials from the Home Department, Police Department, Information Technology Department, Finance Department, Labour Department, Education Department, and other related departments were present at the meeting.
