Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Always Dedicated to Serving Women – Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s Assurance

Chandrapur : The State Government has launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana,’ a scheme with a distinctive name that evokes a sense of belonging. Guardian Minister and State Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs, and Fisheries, Sudhir Mungantiwar, has assured that this scheme will always serve the sisters of the state and will never be discontinued. He urged the public to go door to door, raising awareness so that every eligible sister can enroll in the scheme.

Mungantiwar was speaking at the district-level benefit distribution program of the ‘Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana,’ organized by the district administration at the Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Auditorium. Attendees included MLA Kishore Jorgewar, Collector Vinay Gowda G.C., Municipal Commissioner Vipin Paliwal, Assistant Collector Kashmira Najim, and other dignitaries.

Mungantiwar emphasized that women across the state should register for this scheme without heeding any rumors. Under the scheme, ₹1500 will be deposited monthly into the bank accounts of registered sisters. He also instructed the administration to ensure that any unregistered eligible sisters are reached and their applications are processed.

So far, 2.84 lakh women in Chandrapur district have benefited from the scheme, with 99% of women’s applications qualifying. Mungantiwar expressed satisfaction at the joy women experience when they receive an SMS notification of funds being deposited. He reassured that this happiness would continue, with no cause for concern. He also mentioned that farmers receive ₹12,000 annually from the central and state governments, and now the sisters will receive ₹18,000 per annum from the state government. The scheme’s payments began on August 15, and 1.24 crore sisters across the state are receiving the funds. Mungantiwar assured that everyone would receive their money by Raksha Bandhan and that no one could halt this scheme.

He further noted that 44 lakh citizens in the state are receiving subsidies for the destitute, which initially amounted to ₹600. During his tenure as Finance Minister, this subsidy was increased to ₹1200, and now it stands at ₹1500. The state government is also covering 100% of vocational education costs for OBC and economically weaker section girls. Additionally, women receive a 50% discount on bus travel through the ST service. Under the Jeevandayee and Ayushman Yojana, women will undergo health screenings and receive free treatment. The government’s goal is to provide employment to Ladakhi youth through the Chief Minister’s Youth Work Training Scheme.

Mungantiwar praised the district administration, led by Collector Vinay Gowda, for organizing an excellent program. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting women and ensuring that various government schemes reach the grassroots level. A call center will be established to address complaints from those whose accounts have not yet been credited. He assured that any complaints received at the call center would be promptly addressed by the administration.

MLA Kishore Jorgewar also spoke on the occasion, congratulating the Chief Minister and both Deputy Chief Ministers for initiating this scheme.
