Our Government is Advancing with Green Growth, Investment and Employment: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Achieving yet another significant milestone in clean and green energy generation, Madhya Pradesh took a major step towards sustainable development on Monday. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, along with Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Shri Pralhad Joshi, inaugurated the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park in Neemuch. The event was attended by the Minister for Women and Child Development and the Neemuch District In-charge Minister, Smt. Nirmala Bhuria, Minister for New and Renewable Energy Shri Rakesh Shukla, public representatives, and senior officials.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Shri Joshi also inaugurated and performed the Bhoomi Poojan for industrial units and development projects worth ₹1,553.98 crore. These projects are expected to accelerate industrial investment in the State while creating substantial employment opportunities at the local level. Departmental officials informed that the 550 MW Agar Solar Park is also under construction, with tariffs of ₹2.44 and ₹2.45 per unit secured for its generating units. Upon completion of these projects, Madhya Pradesh will further strengthen its position among India’s leading solar power-producing states and make a significant contribution towards achieving national goals of clean energy, environmental conservation and sustainable development. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Poojan for 98 development works worth nearly ₹160 crore in Neemuch district.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that green development is the State Government’s foremost objective. The Government is working rapidly to attract greater investments through sustainable development and create new employment opportunities. He said Madhya Pradesh has achieved self-reliance in power generation and is now moving forward with the resolve to emerge as India’s leading state in clean, affordable and sustainable energy.The Chief Minister stated that Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam and Ujjain are emerging as the new industrial growth engines of north-western Madhya Pradesh. He said, “Neemuch is evolving not only as Madhya Pradesh’s green energy hub but also as the Global Capital of Green Power.” Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that India’s largest pumped-storage project is being developed in Neemuch, further strengthening the district’s position as a major renewable energy hub. He informed that Neemuch already has 675 MW of operational solar power capacity, while solar power projects with a combined capacity of over 1,952 MW are under various stages of construction.
Electricity @ ₹2.14 per Unit from New Neemuch Solar Park—Lowest Tariff in India
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the inauguration of the new Neemuch Solar Park as a historic milestone, stating that it will supply electricity at the lowest tariff. He noted that Neemuch has the distinction of giving two Chief Ministers and has earned national recognition for its opium production and exemplary eye donation campaign. The Chief Minister, extending greetings on Sant Kabir Jayanti, said that in Sanatan culture, the Sun is revered as the ultimate source of energy. He, referring to the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from 19 March to 30 June, said that remarkable work had been undertaken to conserve wells, stepwells, rivers, ponds and other water bodies. Over the past three months, the State Government has spent ₹10,000 crore to restore more than 2 lakh water bodies across Madhya Pradesh. Neemuch secured 10th place nationally and first in Madhya Pradesh under the campaign. The Chief Minister also congratulated students from Neemuch who secured positions among the Top 10 in the State Board examinations.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that, in the presence of Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi, Madhya Pradesh marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of two major solar power projects—the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park—developed at a total cost of ₹2,080 crore. Additionally, industrial units and other development works worth ₹1,553.98 crore, including 38 industrial projects, were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid in Neemuch. The Chief Minister highlighted that electricity from the new Neemuch Solar Park will be available at ₹2.14 per unit, the lowest tariff in the country. Madhya Pradesh is promoting employment-oriented industries and has emerged as one of India’s fastest job-creating states. Food Parks and PM MITRA Parks are being developed across the State. The foundation stone was also laid for a solar glass manufacturing plant worth over ₹1,200 crore in Neemuch.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that Neemuch will soon be connected to Bhopal via the Jaora–Ujjain highway. He also announced the construction of a new highway linking Mandsaur with Bhopal, further strengthening regional connectivity. The Chief Minister further noted that Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary in Neemuch has become the new home for cheetahs, and two more cheetahs will soon be released into the sanctuary’s natural habitat.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that with the support of the Central Government, every grain of wheat produced by farmers was procured. Farmers received ₹2,625 per quintal for wheat. The State Government procured wheat exceeding the target of 104 lakh metric tonnes, enabling Madhya Pradesh to surpass Punjab in both wheat production and procurement. He added that the Government is now ensuring daytime electricity supply for irrigation and remains committed to farmers during the Krishak Kalyan Varsh (Farmer Welfare Year). Farmers are receiving interest-free crop loans, and the earlier repayment deadline of 31 March has been withdrawn. They can now repay their loans on any date within 12 months from the disbursement date. He said, “For us, soldiers guarding the nation’s borders and farmers working in the fields deserve equal respect.” The Chief Minister said that over 1.25 crore Ladli Behna beneficiaries are receiving ₹1,500 every month. The State Government has launched the PM Shri Air Ambulance Service to ensure timely treatment for poor and needy citizens. Under the Rahveer Yojana, citizens who assist road accident victims receive an incentive of ₹25,000. He also highlighted that construction of the Shri Ram Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Pathey is progressing rapidly. Grand Sandipani Vidyalayas and Geeta Bhawans are being developed across urban local bodies, while one village in every block is being developed as a Vrindavan Gram. To promote milk production, the State Government is providing a subsidy of ₹10 lakh under the Chief Minister Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana for establishing a ₹40 lakh dairy unit.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced ₹17 crore for development works at the Bhadwa Mata Temple in Neemuch and honoured Panchayats that excelled in water conservation under the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign.
Madhya Pradesh: A Preferred Destination for Investment
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State has received investment proposals worth over ₹33 lakh crore during the past two-and-a-half years, with projects worth nearly ₹10 lakh crore already under implementation. More than ₹9,200 crore of Foreign Direct Investment by global companies is being implemented in Madhya Pradesh, generating over 4,200 jobs. He added that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to implement a Labour Case Management System, while industries benefit from the availability of adequate land, water, and power.
Madhya Pradesh Advancing in Renewable Energy
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Neemuch, already renowned for its agriculture, medicinal wealth and entrepreneurial spirit, is now emerging as a major hub for manufacturing, green energy, textiles and food processing. Industrial projects worth ₹1,481 crore, comprising 30 industrial units, are being dedicated to the region. He said clean energy now accounts for 30 per cent of the State’s installed power capacity, with renewable energy capacity exceeding 12,018 MW. A 60 MW solar power plant costing ₹271.16 crore has been inaugurated in Jalud. At Maksi, Jackson Integrated Solar Limited is establishing a 6 GW state-of-the-art solar manufacturing facility, one of India’s largest green manufacturing units. The Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Park and the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Project continue to set national benchmarks.
Development is Rising with Call of ‘Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh’: Union Minister Shri Joshi
Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi said Madhya Pradesh is the land of Goddess Saraswati and that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is carrying forward the legacy of Raja Bhoj. He said the State Government has resolved to usher in a new era of development under the slogan ‘Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh’. The Union Minister noted that the inauguration of the Neemuch and Shajapur Solar Parks marks another milestone, with Madhya Pradesh achieving India’s lowest solar power tariff of ₹2.14 per unit. He said, describing it as a historic achievement, that India has become the second country in the world, after Switzerland, to achieve 100 per cent railway electrification. He added that Madhya Pradesh is supplying electricity to the Indian Railways.
Union Minister Shri Joshi highlighted the 440 MW Morena Solar-plus-Storage Project, which supplies electricity even after sunset at ₹2.70 per unit, and described the Gandhi Sagar Pumped Storage Project in Neemuch as India’s largest project of its kind, capable of generating electricity at nearly half the cost of thermal power. He said schemes such as PM-Kisan and PM-KUSUM under the double-engine government are transforming farmers’ lives. Recently approved development projects worth ₹5,960 crore will also benefit Madhya Pradesh. The State is leading in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and is rapidly expanding its road and aviation infrastructure. Plans for a new airport at Ujjain and the launch of the PM Shri Tourism Helicopter Service are landmark initiatives.
Union Minister Shri Joshi further said that 18 new medical colleges are being established in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He said, describing the State as India’s emerging Green Energy Powerhouse, that Madhya Pradesh would soon receive significant benefits under PM-KUSUM 2. The Union Minister urged the State to increase its installed wind power capacity by 10 GW over the next two years, stating that this would further reduce the cost of power generation. He also noted that India’s solar power capacity has increased from 2.6 GW in 2014 to 157 GW today, while the country is making rapid strides in green hydrogen and semiconductor manufacturing.
Minister for New and Renewable Energy Shri Rakesh Shukla said Madhya Pradesh has made rapid progress in green energy since 2023 and that all government buildings in the State will be equipped with solar power over the coming year. He highlighted the immense potential for solar and wind energy development.
Former Minister and MLA Shri Omprakash Saklecha said Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has gifted Neemuch several landmark industrial development projects, including the decision to develop the Neemuch airstrip for commercial operations.
MLA Shri Dilip Singh Parihar congratulated the Chief Minister for declaring a public holiday on Maharana Pratap Jayanti. He said Neemuch had earlier received a medical college under the Chief Minister’s leadership and is now witnessing several major development projects. The commencement of industrial units in the district is expected to generate employment for more than 3,000 local youth, while the Jawad-Manasa Irrigation Project is ensuring adequate irrigation water for farmers.
