No Compromise on Law and Order During Festivals: Jaipur Administration on High Alert

Jaipur, February 2026 :With several major festivals approaching, the district administration in Jaipur has gone into full alert mode to ensure strict law and order and to maintain communal harmony and social amity. District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has issued clear instructions to all concerned officials to act firmly against any elements attempting to disturb peace or spread unrest.

Chairing a meeting of the District Peace Committee at the Collectorate auditorium on Monday, the District Collector held detailed discussions with representatives of various religious, social and non-governmental organisations. He appealed to all stakeholders to collectively maintain an atmosphere of peace, harmony and brotherhood during upcoming festivals such as Holi, Ramadan, Cheti Chand, Navratri, Ram Navami and Eid.

Dr. Soni directed officials to maintain continuous dialogue with respected community members and religious leaders at the local level. He instructed police stations to regularly convene CLG and Peace Committee meetings and to identify sensitive areas in advance. Strict legal action has been ordered against suspicious individuals, locations and those attempting to incite communal tension or spread misleading information.

Special emphasis was laid on continuous monitoring of social media platforms. The District Collector made it clear that anyone found posting misleading, inflammatory or rumor-based content would face immediate and strict action. Representatives of religious and social organisations were also urged to make the public aware of the dangers of rumors and encourage them to rely only on verified information.

The police department has been instructed to further strengthen nakabandi (check-posts) and patrolling arrangements. Adequate police deployment has been directed at major markets, tourist spots, religious places, bus stands, railway stations and other crowded or sensitive locations. Additional forces will be deployed in identified vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incidents.

The District Collector also instructed all concerned departments—including the police, municipal corporation, electricity department, public health engineering department, civil defence, and medical and health department—to discharge their responsibilities with heightened coordination and vigilance during the festive period, ensuring that the general public does not face any inconvenience.

The meeting was attended by Additional Police Commissioner Rajeev Pachar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sumit Meharda, DCP Jaipur West Hanuman Prasad Meena, DCP Jaipur North Karan Sharma, Additional District Collector Yugantar Sharma, senior district-level officers from various departments, and representatives of religious, social and non-governmental organisations.
