Effective Implementation Needed to Boost Voter Turnout – Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav

Mumbai : Mumbai City District Collector Sanjay Yadav has directed all departments to coordinate effectively to increase voter turnout across all constituencies in the Mumbai City district for the upcoming assembly elections.

Collector Yadav made these remarks during a review meeting held at the Mumbai City Collector’s Office in preparation for the elections. Coordinators from all departments were present at the meeting.

Collector Yadav emphasized that the process of completing voter registration forms should be finalized within two days. He described the voting process as a celebration of democracy, urging that every voter must participate in this festival. To encourage voter participation, he instructed that every voter should be provided with a voting slip. Special attention should be given to areas with low voter turnout in previous elections, with studies conducted to understand the reasons for low participation, and plans made accordingly.

He also emphasized that information about polling stations should be effectively communicated to all voters in the Mumbai City district. All basic facilities, including electricity, water, and pavilions, should be provided at polling stations. Special care should be taken to ensure disabled voters can access polling stations. Given the large number of housing societies in the district, the District Registrar should take steps to educate voters in these societies.
