SRH 255/4 vs RCB: Hyderabad Batters Run Riot in Uppal Run-Fest
May 2026 : Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered another breathtaking batting performance in the IPL 2026 season, hammering a massive 255 for 4 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.
The home side turned the Uppal venue into a batting paradise as explosive innings from Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen left the defending champions struggling for answers throughout the innings.
Batting first, SRH came out with an aggressive mindset and immediately put pressure on the Bengaluru bowlers. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head launched a fierce attack in the powerplay, racing to 45 runs in just four overs. Head looked dangerous during his quickfire knock of 26 from 16 balls before being dismissed by Rasikh Salam Dar.
Despite losing Head early, SRH continued to dominate. Abhishek Sharma produced one of the most destructive innings of the season, smashing 56 runs off only 22 deliveries. The stylish left-hander struck four boundaries and five towering sixes, maintaining a strike rate above 250. His fearless approach ensured SRH crossed the 90-run mark within the first nine overs. Suyash Sharma eventually ended Abhishek’s explosive innings, but the momentum firmly remained with Hyderabad.
The middle overs belonged entirely to Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen, who stitched together a powerful partnership that dismantled the RCB bowling attack. Kishan mixed elegance with aggression during his brilliant innings of 79 from 46 balls. The wicketkeeper-batter found gaps consistently and punished loose deliveries, hitting eight fours and three sixes.
At the other end, Klaasen continued his reputation as one of the IPL’s most dangerous finishers. The South African batter hammered 51 off just 24 balls and thrilled the crowd with five huge sixes. The duo attacked both pace and spin with ease, taking Hyderabad well beyond the 200-run mark and leaving Bengaluru’s bowlers under immense pressure.
RCB finally found some relief when Krunal Pandya dismissed Klaasen in the 17th over, but SRH were far from done. Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy provided a blistering finish, remaining unbeaten on 29 off only 12 deliveries. His late cameo included three massive sixes and helped SRH score 66 runs in the final five overs.
It was a difficult evening for the Bengaluru bowling unit, with every bowler conceding heavily on a batting-friendly surface. Rasikh Salam emerged as the most successful bowler with figures of 2 for 53 in four overs. Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya picked up one wicket each, but none of the bowlers managed to control the run flow.
Senior pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood endured particularly expensive outings, conceding 51 and 55 runs respectively.
With 256 needed for victory, RCB now face one of the biggest run chases of the IPL 2026 season on a surface heavily favouring batters.
