Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev pays a courtesy call on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai; meaningful discussion held on sports development

Raipur, February 2026 : Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev paid a courtesy visit today to Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office in Naya Raipur. The Chief Minister welcomed Kapil Dev by presenting him with a bell-metal memento and the coffee table book Punyabhoomi Chhattisgarh.

During the meeting, the two held detailed discussions on promoting sports in the state, developing modern sports infrastructure, establishing international-level training centers, and nurturing talented athletes. The Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary, Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, was also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Sai shared information about the state government’s ongoing efforts to encourage sports and provide better facilities for players. He stated that expanding infrastructure, training, and opportunities is a top priority for the government to strengthen the sports culture in the state.

Former captain Kapil Dev praised the positive changes taking place in Chhattisgarh and said that in this environment of security, trust, and development, the state’s talent will receive excellent platforms at the national and international levels. He added that Chhattisgarh is steadily moving forward as a safe, prosperous, and developed state.
