Administrative Approval Granted for 5.10-km Rural Road Project to Boost Connectivity

Raipur, February 2026: Giving a fresh impetus to infrastructure development in the state, sustained efforts by Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister and Bhatgaon MLA Laxmi Rajwade have brought a major boost to rural connectivity in Surajpur district.

Minister Rajwade said that roads are not merely physical structures but the foundation of development. A strong and robust road network energizes social and economic activities and accelerates overall growth.

She informed that administrative approval has been granted for the construction of an approach road from Pahargaon via Gopalpur to National Highway-43 in Surajpur district.

Included in the state budget for the financial year 2024–25, this ambitious project entails the construction of a 5.10-kilometre-long road along with bridges and culverts. The road will serve as a key connectivity corridor for several villages, ensuring direct and convenient access to the district headquarters and the national highway.

The project is expected to make travel safer and more convenient. Farmers will benefit from timely access to markets for their produce, students will find it easier to reach educational institutions, and quicker access to emergency healthcare services will be ensured. The road is also expected to spur local trade and generate new employment opportunities.

Minister Rajwade reaffirmed that the state government is committed to integrating rural areas into the mainstream of development and is steadily expanding basic infrastructure in a phased manner.
