Government Dedicated to Farmers’ Prosperity: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav stated that the State Government is working diligently to promote the prosperity of farmers during the Krishi Kalyan Year 2026. To ensure that farmers receive fair prices for their produce, the government has announced a bonus of ₹600 per quintal on urad procurement. Farmers in the state are encouraged to cultivate urad so that they can fully benefit from this bonus and also prepare for the next cropping season.
The State Government has also extended the benefit of a bonus to wheat-producing farmers, as in previous years. For the year 2026–27, a bonus of ₹40 per quintal will be provided on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of wheat. With this, farmers will receive ₹2,625 per quintal for wheat. The State Government, in its resolution document, has committed to procuring wheat at ₹2,700 per quintal by the year 2028 in the interest of farmers. The government will work to achieve this target in the coming years and strive to surpass it.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also directed that arrangements be established to resolve electricity-related complaints at the local level.
The Chief Minister expressed these views on Friday during a meeting held with representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s Residence). The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Shri Neeraj Mandloi, and senior officials from the departments of Agriculture, Revenue, Cooperation, Water Resources, Horticulture, and other departments.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is the country’s food basket, where pulses, oilseeds, and vegetables are produced in substantial quantities. The government is continuously taking farmer-friendly decisions to ensure that farmers of the state progress and prosper. In view of difficulties faced at some places in the registration process for wheat procurement, the last date for registration has been extended from March 7 to March 10.
He further stated that electricity will be supplied to farmers during the daytime for irrigation, which will help them avoid the risks associated with irrigating fields at night. He also assured that the State Government will consider the suggestions received from the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh in the interest of farmers.
During the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, discussions were held on various issues, including increasing compensation for land acquisition, compensation for crop damage caused by wild animals, provisions of the Mandi Act, crop survey (girdawari), fixing timelines for uncontested mutation, land partition and demarcation, electricity supply and irrigation arrangements.
