Comprehensive Development Plan to be Prepared for Karila Dham: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Karila Dham in Ashoknagar district is a remarkable confluence of faith, devotion and spirituality. At this sacred place, Mata Sita is enshrined along with her sons, Luv and Kush, making it the only temple in the country where Mata Sita is worshipped together with both her sons. While most temples in the country are dedicated to Lord Shri Ram, Karila Dham holds a unique significance. It is also believed to be the birthplace of Luv-Kush and stands as a witness to their childhood pastimes. The Chief Minister said that a comprehensive development plan will be prepared for this sacred site.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed devotees at the Rang Panchami mela Mahotsav at Karila Dham in Ashoknagar district on Sunday. He offered prayers at the Janaki Temple and announced development works worth ₹115 crore for the district. These include the inauguration of 11 development works costing ₹57.03 crore and the foundation laying of 39 development works costing ₹58.32 crore, totalling 50 development projects.

Chief MinisterDr. Yadav said that Mata Sita symbolises patience, courage, and self-respect. Whenever the strength and dignity of women are discussed, the example of Mata Sita comes to mind. She conveyed the message that a woman’s self-respect is her greatest strength.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also said that Madhya Pradesh has been blessed by the presence of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram, who spent 11 years of his exile in Chitrakoot. The Madhya Pradesh Government is developing the Ram Van Gaman Path. Sites associated with the footsteps of Lord Shri Ram are being developed as pilgrimage destinations. He stated that devotees visit Karila Dham with deep faith to seek the blessings of Mata Janaki, who fulfils the wishes of her devotees.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that it was a matter of great fortune to offer prayers to Mata Janaki on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Mata Sita represents strength and valour, and her legacy is a reflection of India’s glorious cultural heritage. This sacred place is also associated with the stories of Maharshi Valmiki, Mata Sita, and Luv-Kush.

Matrushakti Holds the Highest Place in Indian Culture

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Matrushakti holds the foremost place in Indian culture. The Central and State Governments are implementing several schemes for the welfare of women. He stated that 33 per cent reservation for women will also be provided in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections. The Chief Minister said that under the Ladli Behna Yojana, the state government is providing ₹1,500 per month to women beneficiaries. Women are also being provided with reservations in various government departments, enabling them to secure positions at higher levels. He said that Krishak Kalyan Varsh (Farmer Welfare Year) is being observed in the state. For the welfare of farmers, both the Central and State Governments are providing ₹6,000 each under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

Ritual Worship at Janaki Temple

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed traditional worship rituals at the Janaki Temple in Karila Dham. The Chief Minister also played the dhol and performed shankhnaad in the temple premises. He celebrated Phoolon ki Holi with the devotees. He also announced the approval of a 10-kilometre road from village Deepanakheda to Karila Dham and instructed the Collector to prepare a comprehensive development plan for the Karila Dham pilgrimage site. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also visited the exhibition set up by women self-help groups at the event venue and engaged with the women associated with the groups.

Women Honoured on International Women’s Day

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured seven women from the district for their outstanding contributions in different fields on the occasion of International Women’s Day. These included Dr. Amita Sethi (education), Smt. Naina Sharma (religious service), Sushri Poonam Raghuvanshi (sports), Smt. Vinita Sahu (environment), Smt. Gayatri Sharma (self-reliance), Smt. Chhaya Bais (healthcare) and Smt. Kulvinder Kaur (social service).

The event was attended by Minister for New and Renewable Energy and District In-charge Minister Shri Rakesh Shukla, former minister and Mungaoli MLA Shri Brijendra Singh Yadav, District Panchayat President Shri Ajay Pratap Singh Yadav, along with public representatives, officials, and a large number of women and devotees.
