Nitish Kumar Reviews Development Projects in Supaul During Samriddhi Yatra

Patna, March 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reviewed various development projects underway in Supaul district during his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra. The review meeting was held at the Nirmali Sub-Divisional Office ground, where the Chief Minister assessed the progress of multiple schemes with senior officials.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the state government has set a target to provide jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth in the next five years. He noted that the government is encouraging industrial growth and self-employment by offering various facilities and incentives to entrepreneurs. Special economic packages are also being provided to attract industries to Bihar, which will help generate employment opportunities for the youth and make them self-reliant.

Nitish Kumar said the government’s aim is to promote industries across all districts and ensure that the youth of Bihar gain more employment opportunities, securing their future.

Referring to the formation of the new state government on November 20, 2025, he said that soon after taking charge, the government launched programmes under “Saat Nishchay-3” to place Bihar among the most developed states in the country. One of the key objectives of this initiative is to strengthen basic infrastructure and expand modern facilities.

Under the programme, urban areas are being expanded and civic amenities strengthened, while new modern planned cities are also being developed. To improve connectivity in urban areas, the government plans to construct five new expressways, and rural roads will be gradually widened to two lanes.

The Chief Minister also highlighted steps being taken to strengthen the state’s power infrastructure and promote solar energy by installing solar panels on the rooftops of households willing to adopt the technology. Additionally, the government is working to develop tourist destinations in the state and establish them as national and international-level tourism centres. Tourism circuits are also being developed to connect key tourist sites with better facilities for visitors. Special emphasis is being given to the promotion of eco-tourism in the state.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister sought detailed information from officials regarding the implementation of schemes announced during the Pragati Yatra and other development initiatives.

Supaul District Magistrate Sawan Kumar made a detailed presentation to the Chief Minister on the implementation of schemes related to Pragati Yatra, Saat Nishchay-2, and Saat Nishchay-3, and briefed him on other development works being carried out in the district.

The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the implementation of approved schemes and ensure that development projects are executed effectively. He emphasized that programmes under Saat Nishchay-2 should also be implemented efficiently so that the benefits of government initiatives reach the public at the earliest.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a sapling and a painting.

The review meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, secretaries and senior officials of concerned departments, Commissioner of Koshi Division Rajesh Kumar, DIG of Koshi Range Kumar Ashish, District Magistrate Sawan Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sarath R.S., and other senior officials.
