Sangeet Bhavan Celebrates 38th Annual Day with an Evening of Classical Music and Kathak
Lucknow, July 2026 : The 38th Annual Day of Sangeet Bhavan Academy was celebrated on Sunday at the Urdu Academy Auditorium, with the event dedicated to the sacred memory of renowned music maestro Pandit Kamal David. The evening showcased the richness of Indian classical music, instrumental performances, vocal recitals, and Kathak dance, leaving the audience enthralled.
The programme commenced with a captivating ensemble performance by nine sitar players, presenting compositions based on Raag Mishra Kafi, Raag Mishra Pilu, and Deepchandi Taal. The performance featured Mihika Gangli, Praveen Gaun, Bhavya Gupta, Bhavya Jain, Chanda Maidh, Vijayashree Singh, Avyukta, Atharva Srivastava, and Antara Bhattacharya.
This was followed by a series of classical presentations, including the Durga Chalisa Ragamala, the Sangeet Bhavan anthem, Hanumanashtak based on Raag Bihag and Raag Lalit, and an impressive tabla ensemble that performed traditional Peshkar, Kayda, and Chakkardar Tukdas in Teentaal. The evening concluded with an elegant Kathak dance recital, which received warm appreciation from the audience.
A large number of students displayed their musical and artistic talent during the event. Performers included Soumya Goyal, Ravi Lele, Mihika, Avika, Atharva, Adrika, Aashvi, Avyukta, Gunashree, Karnika, Aastha, Praveen, Sunita, Madhuri, Suman, Deepika, Prachi, Awaansh Singh Karki, Aastha Pandey, Meghashwini Mathur, Ashutosh Verma, Sarthak Mishra, Achit Agrawal, Praket Gupta, Mahak, Pari, Bhumi, and Anjali, all of whom earned applause for their outstanding performances.
The programme was compered by Ashutosh Verma and Antara Bhattacharya.
Among the distinguished guests present on the occasion were Padma Gidwani, Tuhin Banerjee, Rudrendra Bhasak, Director General of Police (Telecom) Ashutosh Pandey, Rashmi Pandey, Yogacharya Dr. Avadhesh Sharma, IFS officer R. Ravindra, Milan Debnath, Biju Bhagwati, tabla expert Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim, and Dr. S.K. Gopal.
The event was also attended by Gayatri David, Patron of Sangeet Bhavan, along with Nivedita Bhattacharya, Dr. Sudha Dwivedi, Jitesh Srivastava, and a large gathering of music lovers, parents, and well-wishers, making the annual celebration a memorable tribute to India’s rich classical heritage.
