FASTag Annual Pass Fee Revised to ₹3,075 for 2026–27

New Delhi, March 2026 : The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass for the financial year 2026–27. The fee has been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075, with the revised rate set to come into effect from April 1, 2026.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said the revision has been carried out in accordance with the provisions laid out in the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008. Officials noted that periodic revisions in toll-related charges are part of the regulatory framework governing national highways across the country.

The FASTag Annual Pass, introduced to simplify toll payments for frequent highway users, has seen a steady rise in popularity among private vehicle owners. According to NHAI data, more than 56 lakh users are currently availing the facility, highlighting its growing acceptance among regular commuters.

The annual pass is available exclusively for eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag. Once activated, the pass allows users to travel through toll plazas without needing to recharge their FASTag repeatedly. Instead, commuters pay a one-time annual fee that remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever occurs earlier.

Officials said the facility has been designed to make highway travel smoother, faster and more economical for motorists who frequently travel on national highways. By reducing the need for repeated transactions at toll plazas, the system helps improve traffic flow and minimise waiting times.

The FASTag Annual Pass can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas located on national highways and expressways across India. This wide network allows pass holders to travel seamlessly across multiple states without worrying about frequent deductions from their FASTag accounts.

NHAI also clarified that once the one-time payment is made, the annual pass is activated on the vehicle’s existing FASTag within two hours. This quick activation process ensures that commuters can start using the facility almost immediately after completing the payment.

Users who wish to purchase or renew the annual pass can do so through the Rajmarg Yatra App or by visiting the official website of the National Highways Authority of India. Both platforms allow users to complete the transaction digitally, making the process convenient and accessible.

The FASTag Annual Pass was first introduced on August 15, 2025, coinciding with Independence Day celebrations in India. Since its launch, the initiative has received a positive response from highway travellers, particularly those who regularly commute for work or business purposes.

NHAI officials said the increasing number of users reflects the convenience and cost benefits offered by the annual pass system. With the slight fee revision for the upcoming financial year, authorities expect the scheme to continue supporting efficient and hassle-free travel on India’s expanding network of national highways.
