Major gift for Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims, CM Yogi Adityanath to provide financial assistance to devotees
CM Yogi Adityanath will distribute ₹1 lakh each to 555 devotees at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday
Lucknow, March 2026 : The Government of Uttar Pradesh is set to take a major initiative on Tuesday for devotees undertaking the sacred pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar. At a special programme to be held on March 17 at Lok Bhavan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each to 555 devotees.
The programme is being organized by the Tourism Department with the objective of encouraging pilgrims and making their journey more convenient.
A large number of devotees, public representatives, and officials are expected to attend the event.
This initiative by the government reflects both its commitment to promoting religious tourism and its sensitivity toward devotees.
The Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage is considered extremely sacred in Sanatan Dharma, but it is also known to be difficult and expensive.
In such circumstances, the financial assistance being provided by the state government will offer significant relief to pilgrims.
The state government has consistently been working toward developing religious sites, making pilgrimage journeys more convenient, and encouraging devotees.
The programme is being seen as an important step in that direction and is expected to give fresh momentum to religious tourism in the state.
Along with the Chief Minister, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna and Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, along with other senior public representatives, will also be present at the event.
Through financial assistance for a challenging pilgrimage like Kailash Mansarovar, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step toward making the journey easier for devotees.
A provision of subsidy up to ₹1 lakh has been made for permanent residents of the state. After completing the pilgrimage, the amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account following application and verification of documents.
In addition, the government has constructed the Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan in Ghaziabad to provide transit stay facilities for pilgrims coming from across the country, ensuring better accommodation and services.
This initiative not only reflects respect for faith but also represents an effort to further strengthen religious tourism and accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s progress in this sector.
