Seven-Day Bhajan Workshop Concludes with Devotional Tribute to Shri Ram on New Year

Lucknow, March 2026 : A seven-day online bhajan workshop organized by the Lok Sanskriti Research Institute concluded on Wednesday in a graceful and devotional atmosphere, marked by melodious renditions of Shri Ram bhajans on the auspicious occasion of the New Year (Nav Samvatsar).

The workshop, conducted under the expert guidance of Dr. Smriti Tripathi, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Music, University of Delhi, saw participation from 42 individuals. Over the course of seven days, participants received intensive training in traditional bhajans based on folk tunes from Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Bundeli languages. They also explored various streams of Ram devotion through compositions by Sant Ravidas, Kabir, Guru Nanak, and Meera Bai.

Providing details, the institute’s secretary, Dr. Sudha Dwivedi, said that during the concluding session, participants delivered commendable performances of the bhajans they had learned. Notable presentations included Chaiti Ghar-Ghar Baajat Badhaiya Ho Rama, Avadhpuri Baaje Aaj Badhaiya, the Bhojpuri wedding song Sukh Nahin Kahin Jaisan Sasurariya Mein, the Maithili bhajan Bhaju Raghubar Shyam Yugal Charna, Sant Ravidas’ Ab Kaise Chhootai Ram Naam Rat Laagi, Meera Bai’s Mero Man Ramahi Ram Ratai, Ab Tum Daya Karo Shri Ram Ji, the Janakpur wedding song Mangal Aaju Janakpur Ati Manbhavan He, Guru Nanak’s Apne Ram Ka Gun Gaun, Kabir’s Man Ram Sumir Pachhtayega, Guru Kripa Jan Payo Mere Bhai, and the Bundeli bhajan More Janak Raj Ke Dham.

The workshop featured a diverse group of participants including Archana Gupta, Deveshwari Panwar, Pratima Mishra, Veena Saxena, Alka Chaturvedi, Nidhi Nigam, Aparna Singh, Kumkum Mishra, Preeti Srivastava, Bharti Srivastava, Madhu Srivastava, Kumud Srivastava, Abha Dixit, Sushma Prakash, Rita Pandey, Anuj Srivastava, Neelima Singh, Ratna Shukla, Seema Agrawal, Rama Agnihotri, Babita Sahu, Pratima Verma, Preeti Chaturvedi, Jyoti Srivastava, Madhuri Singh, Neera Mishra, Soni Ghildiyal, Roshni Keshari, Abha Mishra, Sangeeta Dubey, Meena Mishra, Poornima Dharmesh Kanungo, Anita Kumari, Ranjana Shankar, Sarita Agrawal, Ranjana Dubey, Madhu Mathur, Pratima Agrawal, Tripti Sen, Gopali Chandra, Shikha Srivastava, and Rashi Srivastava.
