CM Nitish Kumar Launches ₹442 Crore Development Projects in Bhagalpur During Samriddhi Yatra

Patna, March 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced and inaugurated development projects worth ₹442 crore in Bhagalpur district during his ongoing “Samriddhi Yatra.” A total of 144 projects were either inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid.

During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of multiple infrastructure and welfare schemes and directed officials to ensure their timely and efficient completion. He emphasized that all projects must be executed within stipulated deadlines so that people can benefit at the earliest.

Nitish Kumar inspected ongoing works, including railway overbridge construction, tourism infrastructure near Jahaj Ghat, sports complex development, and plans for a cancer treatment institute in Bhagalpur. He also reviewed projects related to administrative buildings, housing facilities, industrial zone development, and an international-standard greenfield airport.

The Chief Minister noted that completion of roads and railway overbridges would significantly improve traffic movement and connectivity in the region.

During his visit to Baijani village in Jagdishpur block, he inspected local development works, including a Panchayat government building, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, a government school, and water conservation projects. He also planted a sapling and laid the foundation stone for a community marriage hall under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap scheme.

Addressing a public gathering, Nitish Kumar distributed financial assistance and benefits to various beneficiaries, including self-help groups under the Jeevika programme. Loans worth over ₹377 crore were symbolically handed over to more than one lakh women members.

Out of the total projects, 88 schemes worth ₹171 crore were inaugurated, while 56 projects worth ₹271 crore were launched.

Several ministers, legislators, senior officials, and public representatives were present on the occasion.
