Applications Invited for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Outstanding Public Library, Worker, and Sevak Award by September 25

Mumbai : The Directorate of Libraries under the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, has announced the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Outstanding Librarianship Award. This award aims to promote the qualitative development of government-recognized public libraries in the state. Additionally, in honor of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the Father of Indian Librarianship, the SR Ranganathan Outstanding Library Worker and Sevak Award will be presented to distinguished activists and workers in the library movement. Applications for these awards are invited by September 25.

Librarians, activists, and servants interested in applying for the 2023-24 awards should submit their applications in the prescribed format, along with the necessary documents, in three copies to the offices of the District Library Officers in their respective districts. The submission period is from August 26, 2024, to September 25, 2024.

The best recognized public libraries in categories A, B, C, and D, in both urban and rural areas of the state, will be honored with a cash prize. Additionally, state-level outstanding library workers and outstanding library servants will each be awarded Rs 50,000. Furthermore, one outstanding library worker and one outstanding library servant at the state level will receive Rs 1,00,000.
