Kudargarh Dham to Undergo Grand Development: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, March 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that the revered Kudargarh Dham will be developed into a grand religious destination. He made the statement while visiting Kudargarh village in the Odgi block of Surajpur district on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 76 development projects worth ₹185 crore in the district. These included projects related to roads, buildings, drinking water, education, reservoirs, and urban infrastructure. He congratulated the residents of Surajpur for these initiatives, stating that such projects would accelerate overall development in the region.

The Chief Minister offered prayers at the sacred shrine of Maa Kudargarhi, seeking peace, prosperity, and happiness for the people of the state. Addressing the gathering, he expressed gratitude to the people of Surajpur for giving him the opportunity to visit the temple during the holy festival. He also greeted devotees who had arrived from across the state for darshan during Navratri.

Highlighting the importance of faith and tradition, Sai said that temples and deities not only symbolize spiritual belief but also bring vibrancy and cultural unity to people’s lives. He announced that a ropeway would soon be constructed at Kudargarh Dham to make access easier for devotees. Additionally, infrastructure such as domes, electricity, and other essential facilities will be developed to ensure a well-planned and comprehensive transformation of the pilgrimage site.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a newly constructed modern rest house in Kudargarh, built at a cost of approximately ₹3.09 crore, equipped with all necessary amenities for visitors.

On the occasion, Sai flagged off Suposhan Rath (nutrition awareness vehicle), crime awareness vehicle, and traffic awareness vehicle to promote public awareness. He emphasized the importance of proper nutrition for women and children and urged citizens to follow traffic rules to prevent accidents and save lives.

He noted that Surajpur district is effectively implementing nutrition programmes through ready-to-eat food production, benefiting women and children.

Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam and Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade also addressed the gathering, highlighting the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, women empowerment, and regional development.
