Anganwadi Workers Play a Vital Role in Building ‘Developed India’; Government Firmly Stands with Them: MoS Meghna Bordikar
Satara, March 2026 : Minister of State for Women and Child Development Meghna Bordikar said that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in realizing the vision of a “Developed India.” Along with nurturing a cultured and healthy generation, they are also performing the noble task of caring for pregnant women. She assured that the government is positive about all their genuine demands and stands firmly in support of them.
She was speaking at the third annual state convention of the Maharashtra Anganwadi Employees Union, affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, held at Laxmi Narayan Mangal Karyalaya in Mangalwar Peth, Satara. District Civil Surgeon Dr. Yuvraj Karpe, Corporator Siddhi Pawar, State President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Anil Dhumne, Federation Secretary Sangeeta Srivastava, General Secretary Kiran Milgir, Shripad Kutasak, and Anganwadi workers and helpers from across the district were present on the occasion.
The Minister informed that a special meeting was recently held at the मंत्रालय regarding the demands of Anganwadi workers. Based on the discussions, several positive decisions in the interest of workers have been taken.
To simplify their workload, the government is providing new mobile devices to Anganwadi workers. This will make it easier to carry out tasks such as registration of pregnant women, vaccination tracking, and other administrative work through online systems.
She added that detailed discussions on the issues faced by Anganwadi workers will take place during the convention. The government will promptly and positively consider the outcomes and demands emerging from these discussions.
Highlighting their importance, Bordikar said that Anganwadi workers are instrumental in building a healthy and cultured society. She noted that Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis have given special attention to resolving their issues. Many of their demands have already been fulfilled, and the government remains committed to addressing the remaining concerns.
She emphasized that Anganwadi workers are not merely employees but social architects who lay the foundation of a strong society. Recognizing their hard work, the government will extend full support to them, she assured.
