Cabinet Approves Various Construction and Development Works Worth ₹6,940 Crore

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the Cabinet meeting held at the Mantralaya on Monday. The Cabinet approved various construction and development works worth ₹6,940 crore and the continuation of several schemes. The Cabinet also approved ₹82.39 crore for the Mahana Micro Irrigation Project in Rewa district, along with a 3 per cent increase in dearness allowance for government employees and dearnes relief for pensioners wef July 1, 2025, raising it to 58 per cent. The Cabinet also approved several welfare proposals, including the implementation of the Shaurya Sankalp Training Scheme for youth from Other Backwards Classes (OBC).

3 Per cent Dearness Allowance Approved for Government Employees and Pensioners

The Cabinet approved a 3 per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees receiving the Seventh Pay Commission pay scale, raising the total DA to 58 per cent wef July 1, 2025. The Finance Department has been authorised to increase DA on a proportional basis for employees receiving the Sixth Pay Commission pay scale and for personnel under the Fifth and Fourth Pay Commissions working on deputation in state government offices from corporations, boards and undertakings. As per the approval, arrears for the period from July 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, will be paid in six equal instalments. The first instalment will be paid in May, followed by instalments in June, July, August, September and October.

For government employees who retired or passed away between January 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026, the arrear amount will be paid in a lump sum to them or their nominated family members. Pensioners and family pensioners of the state government will receive pension relief of 58 per cent under the Seventh Pay Commission and 257 per cent under the Sixth Pay Commission wef January 1, 2026, in accordance with the Government of Chhattisgarh’s letter dated February 9, 2026.

Mahana Micro Irrigation Project Approved in Rewa District

The Cabinet approved ₹82.39 crore for the Mahana Micro Irrigation Project in Rewa district. The project will provide irrigation facilities to 4,500 hectares of land and benefit about 950 farmer families across 18 villages in the Jawa and Teonthar tehsils of the district.

Approval for Shaurya Sankalp Training Scheme

The Cabinet approved the implementation of the Shaurya Sankalp Training Scheme 2026 to prepare OBC youth for recruitment in the armed forces, paramilitary forces, police, home guards and private security agencies. Under the scheme, 4,000 OBC youth will receive residential training every year to help them qualify for recruitment in these services. During the training period, eligible male candidates will receive a stipend of ₹1,000 per month, while female candidates will receive ₹1,100 per month. Training will be conducted at 40 centres across 10 locations in the state, with separate facilities for male and female candidates. At least 35 per cent of the seats will be reserved for women candidates. The scheme will also provide free residential accommodation, meals and study material.

Guest Teachers working in Institutions for Divyangs to receive ₹18,000 Honorarium

The Cabinet approved a proposal of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to provide ₹18,000 per month as honorarium to guest teachers working in institutions for persons with disabilities, in line with the honorarium provided to Class-1 guest teachers in the School Education Department.

Increase in Supplementary Nutrition for Severely Underweight Children

The Cabinet approved an increase in the supplementary nutrition assistance provided at Anganwadi centres for severely underweight (SUW) children aged 6 months to 6 years. In accordance with the revised norms of the Government of India, the daily amount per beneficiary has been increased from ₹8 to ₹12 across all Anganwadi centres in the state.

Approval for Construction and Development Works Worth ₹6,940 Crore

The Cabinet approved ₹6,940 crore for various construction and development works and the continuation of several schemes. Under the Commercial Tax Department, approval was granted for nine schemes worth ₹2,933 crore for rural housing and transport infrastructure development, ₹37 crore for maintenance of commercial tax tribunals and departmental assets, and ₹162 crore for information technology and establishment expenditure for the period 2026–27 to 2030–31.

Under the Public Works Department, approval was granted for the continuation of 17 schemes, including ₹691 crore for the construction of the Mantralaya building, Vidhan Sabha and MLA rest house facilities, ₹731 crore for government residences, state guest house and office buildings, ₹565 crore for project implementation unit-related works and ₹379 crore for capital project establishment expenditure.

Under the Tribal Affairs Department, approval of ₹102 crore was granted for the continuation of three schemes related to promotion, research, training and development of tribal culture for the period 2026–27 to 2030–31.

Under the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, approval was granted for 22 welfare-related schemes worth ₹865 crore, including Smart PDS, Chief Minister Ration Aapke Gram, Ujjwala, Prime Minister Gati Shakti and the Chief Minister Yuva Annadoot Scheme. ₹354.03 crore was approved for the scheme of the Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, ₹3.90 crore for maintenance of departmental assets, ₹16.50 crore for the Controller of Legal Metrology office, and ₹16 crore for the formation of the Food Commission for the period 2026–27 to 2030–31.
