₹1,056 Crore Gift to Patna District During Chief Minister’s Visit

Patna, March 2026: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during his visit, gifted projects worth ₹1,056 crore to Patna district and inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 1,373 development schemes.

The Chief Minister also reviewed various ongoing development schemes in the district and instructed officials to complete the works within the stipulated time.

During the visit, the Chief Minister, through remote mode, inaugurated 761 schemes worth ₹473 crore and laid foundation stones for 612 schemes worth ₹583 crore at Gyan Bhawan located in the Samrat Ashok Convention Centre complex in Patna.

He inspected stalls set up by various departments. During the inspection, the Chief Minister distributed benefits to beneficiaries, including symbolic cheques of ₹519 crore 26 lakh under bank loans for 2,06,989 women of 25,883 Jeevika self-help groups, Ayushman cards, symbolic cheques under integrated goat and sheep development schemes, training certificates under the Kushal Yuva Programme, and Bihar Student Credit Cards.

Women from Jeevika groups welcomed the Chief Minister and said that several unique initiatives have been taken by him for women empowerment, from which all women are benefiting. The Chief Minister congratulated them and said that they are playing an important role in Bihar’s development and should continue to work with dedication, while the government will always be ready to support them.

The Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of the road from AIIMS Golambar–Janipur–Paina–Neva (Bihta–Sarmera–Patna Ring Road), including its two-lane widening and strengthening. Officials informed him that the construction work is progressing rapidly and will help reduce traffic congestion for people traveling to areas like Phulwari Sharif, AIIMS, Danapur, and Naubatpur. The road will connect NH-139 and Bihta-Sarmera (six-lane), benefiting around four lakh people in the region. The total length of the road is 10.50 km.

He directed officials to ensure timely completion of this important road, which will improve connectivity to AIIMS Patna and provide convenience to people coming from South Bihar via the Patna Ring Road.

Later, the Chief Minister inspected the under-construction Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Residential +2 School at Phulwari Sharif. Officials informed that the residential co-educational school with a capacity of 720 students for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is under construction. The campus will include administrative and academic buildings, boys’ and girls’ hostels, staff quarters, and teachers’ residences.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, MLA Shyam Rajak, Principal Secretary to CM Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, DGP Vinay Kumar, and other senior officials were present.
