PM Modi to Inaugurate Noida International Airport at Jewar, Boosting NCR Connectivity

New Delhi, March 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the much-anticipated Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, marking a significant development in India’s aviation and infrastructure landscape.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Jewar, located in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district, at around 11:30 a.m. He will first take a walkthrough of the state-of-the-art terminal building to review facilities and infrastructure. The formal inauguration is expected to take place around noon, followed by a public address in which he will outline the importance of the project and its role in enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.

On Friday, Modi shared images of the newly constructed airport, highlighting its strategic value for the National Capital Region (NCR). He described the project as a major boost to connectivity, noting that the first phase of the airport is now ready for operations. The Jewar airport is expected to ease pressure on Delhi’s existing airport while serving as a major aviation hub for northern India.

Officials confirmed that all preparations for the inauguration ceremony have been completed. The event is expected to witness a large gathering, including government officials, industry stakeholders, and members of the public. Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister will address a public rally at the venue.

Given the high-profile nature of the event, authorities have put in place extensive security arrangements. The entire area has been divided into multiple security zones, with heavy deployment of police and paramilitary personnel. Surveillance has been significantly intensified in and around the venue to ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents.

In addition to security, a detailed traffic management plan has been implemented to handle the expected crowd. Movement of goods vehicles on key routes such as the Yamuna Expressway and Noida Expressway has been restricted from 7 a.m. on Saturday for nearly 16 hours. Heavy vehicles are being diverted to alternate routes to facilitate smooth movement of VIPs and minimize disruptions for commuters.

Authorities have advised the public to follow traffic guidelines strictly and avoid unnecessary travel on these routes during the restricted period. Detailed instructions have also been issued to ensure orderly participation in the inauguration event.

The launch of the Noida International Airport is seen as a major milestone that will strengthen India’s aviation network, improve connectivity, and support long-term economic development in the region.
