Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Director Tanuja Salam Reviews Preparations in Ambikapur

Raipur, March 2026 : Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the Chhattisgarh Government, Mrs. Tanuja Salam, on Saturday inspected the preparations for the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 at Gandhi Stadium in Ambikapur. During her visit, she specifically reviewed the arrangements for the wrestling championship and held a meeting with the technical team, issuing necessary guidelines.

Inspection of Arrangements

During the inspection, Mrs. Salam reviewed the practice areas, main competition venue, food arrangements, and medical facilities set up at Gandhi Stadium. She also visited accommodation facilities designated for players, including Grand Basant and Hotel Mayura. She instructed officials to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and essential amenities at these locations.

Interaction with Participants

Mrs. Salam interacted directly with participants from various states to gather feedback on sports facilities, accommodation, and food quality. She directed officials to ensure that athletes, especially those from tribal regions, are provided with facilities of international standards.

To ensure the successful conduct of the event, a meeting of technical staff and sports officials was also held. During the meeting, strict adherence to rules during the wrestling championship and special attention to athletes’ facilities were emphasised.

On this occasion, District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer Ram Kumar Singh, along with other department officials, coaches, and staff members, were present.
