Expansion of Sports Facilities Provides Youth with New Opportunities and Directions: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai
Raipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the Multipurpose Indoor Basketball Stadium in Jashpur, constructed at a cost of ₹3.52 crore. On this occasion, Shri Sai emphasized that strengthening sports infrastructure provides young people with better opportunities to hone their talents and motivates them to excel at national and international levels.
The Chief Minister toured the stadium, engaged with the athletes, and encouraged them, highlighting that the government is continuously working to expand sports facilities across the state to ensure that talented players from rural and remote areas also get the right platforms.
Shri Sai said, “Sports are not just a medium of competition but a powerful tool to develop discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence. The state government’s aim is to provide better sports facilities to the youth, giving them opportunities to reach new heights.”
The stadium will offer modern facilities for practicing basketball as well as chess, carrom, and table tennis. It is expected not only to promote sporting activities but also to serve as a key center for nurturing sports talent in the Jashpur region.
The inauguration was attended by prominent officials, including Shri Rampratap Singh, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board; Salik Sai, District Panchayat Chairman; Arvind Bhagat, Municipal Chairman; Krishna Rai; Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Deputy Municipal Chairman; Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev, District Panchayat Chairman; Gangaram Bhagat, Janpad Panchayat Chairman; Vijay Aditya Singh Judev; Sarguja Commissioner Narendra Dugga; IG Deepak Kumar Jha; Collector Rohit Vyas; Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Umed Singh; DFO Shashi Kumar; District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, along with athletes and coaches.
The stadium will provide young players with a modern environment to train and excel, fostering a culture of sports excellence in the region.
