Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Maharashtra’s Sakshi Burkule Wins Gold in 86 kg Weightlifting

Raipur, March 2026: Athletes delivered impressive performances in the women’s 86 kg weightlifting event at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, thrilling spectators with intense competition and displays of strength.

Maharashtra’s Sakshi Bandu Burkule emerged as the gold medalist with a dominant performance. Competing at the Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University sports ground in Raipur, she lifted 68 kg in the snatch and 82 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 150 kg to secure the top position. Her performance stood out as the strongest of the event.

Chhattisgarh’s Rishika Kashyap claimed the silver medal with an impressive total lift of 121 kg, including 55 kg in the snatch and 71 kg in the clean and jerk. Assam’s Bitupuna Deori secured the bronze medal with a total of 118 kg.

In the remaining positions, Assam’s Linda finished fourth with a total lift of 114 kg. Tripura’s Sumi Mog secured fifth place with 77 kg, while Andhra Pradesh’s J.C. Rani finished sixth with 61 kg.

The event witnessed tough competition among the participants, with each athlete striving to deliver their best performance. The enthusiastic support from the audience further boosted the morale of the competitors, making the event lively and engaging throughout.
