Widening Work of Pakka Pul–Purnia Bandha Road Begins
Lucknow, April 2026 : The road from Pakka Pul to Purnia Bandha in the state capital will soon be upgraded into a four-lane stretch. On Saturday, local MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the long-awaited widening and reconstruction project connecting Sitapur Road to Pakka Pul Bandha.
The project, estimated at around ₹45 crore, will cover a stretch of approximately 3.2 km and is expected to be completed within 18 months by the Lucknow Development Authority.
Dr. Neeraj Bora said that the road serves as a lifeline for the area but has long suffered from severe traffic congestion due to its narrow width of just 5 metres. The road will now be widened to 14 metres with a central divider, which is expected to significantly ease traffic flow and improve safety.
He added that residents of areas such as Triveni Nagar, Khadra, Faizullaganj, and nearby localities will benefit greatly from smoother and safer connectivity. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said that rapid development is taking place in Lucknow North under the “double-engine” government, and this project will prove to be a milestone.
