Commerce & Industries Minister Launches Unnati (Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme)

Aizawl : Today, Commerce & Industries Minister Pu F. Rodingliana officially launched the UNNATI 2024 scheme at McCabe Hall, Aijal Club. This initiative aims to boost economic growth through industrialization in the northeastern states of India, including Mizoram. The event also included presentations and briefings on the scheme’s details.

Minister Pu F. Rodingliana expressed his gratitude for the launch of this progressive government scheme, emphasizing its potential to bring significant improvements across various services. He highlighted the ongoing Handholding Policy and the newly developed MSME Elevate Mizoram (MEMiz) Scheme as key components in the state’s strategic investment plan. The Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives will foster substantial growth for industrialists in Mizoram. He also acknowledged the state’s talented and hardworking young people, who have already shown promise in various sectors.

The Minister addressed past challenges, noting that some industrialists had previously been unable to repay loans or sustain their businesses. He assured that the government is committed to supporting future success through comprehensive policies like the Handholding Policy. The Minister also encouraged officials to actively implement these policies as part of their public service responsibilities.

The UNNATI scheme launch was led by Pi Maria C.T. Zuali, Director of Commerce & Industries, with a welcome speech by Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, Secretary of Commerce & Industries. Dr. Karampaul Singh, Nodal Officer for the NER States (Meghalaya and Tripura) under the UNNATI scheme, provided an overview of the new initiative. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Addl. Director, Commerce & Industries, Pu Lalhmunsiama. A Sensitization Programme followed, covering topics such as Health Care (Hospitals/Diagnostic Centres), Food & Beverages (Horticulture, Agriculture, Food Entrepreneurs), Tourism Sector (Hotels/Home Stays), and Education (Vocational & Digital/IT & ITES).
