Writing Creative Content Crucial for Effective Public Communication: CPR Shri Singh
April 2026 : Commissioner of Public Relations, Shri Manish Singh, stated that writing creative content is crucial for effective publicity and communication in the Public Relations Department. He said that content plays a vital role in making news impactful and is required in various formats such as news reports, features, articles and advertorials. Attention to the uniqueness of language is also essential, as press releases have their own distinct style. Officers should therefore work continuously to strengthen their command over language.
CPR Shri Singh was addressing the concluding session of the two-day training programme for Public Relations Officers held at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU) on Friday. He said that all district offices of the Public Relations Department should move towards working on the e-Office software system. CPR Shri Singh also emphasised the need for better financial management. He said that efforts should be made to explore more effective ways to communicate government schemes to the public.Writing Plays a Crucial Role in Public Relations
The Kulguru of the University, Shri Vijay Manohar Tiwari, said that writing plays a vital role in the field of public relations. Officers proficient in writing hold a distinct place in the profession. He encouraged Public Relations Officers to take an interest in writing news stories, stating that even a small subject, if written well, can receive good coverage in publications. He stated that Public Relations Officers at the district level can develop success stories based on positive initiatives, and sharing such stories helps secure better media coverage for the good work of departments.
Former Director of Public Relations Shri Lajpat Ahuja shared his experiences in public relations and discussed the policy related to government advertisements. He also familiarised participants with the use of various approaches and methods for effective public relations.
The programme also included discussions on internship opportunities for MCU students in various branches of the Public Relations Department. Sessions were held on departmental budgeting and store rules. Officers were also informed about various schemes run for journalists. In the final session, participants were briefed about the management of the Public Relations Department’s portal.
Public Relations Officers and senior officials from district public relations offices across the state, as well as from the Directorate, participated in the training programme. The training was organised jointly by the Public Relations Department and the training wing of MCU. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shalabh Shrivastava.
During the two-day programme, sessions were conducted on topics including organisational management, digital innovations, e-office, e-HRMS, artificial intelligence, content management, RTI, press regulations, public relations policies and their practical implementation and financial management.
In addition to other experts, Additional Director Shri G.S. Wadhwa and Shri Sanjay Jain, Deputy Directors Shri Santosh Mishra and Shri Sunil Verma, Assistant Director Shri Rajesh Pandey, Assistant Public Relations Officer Shri Shivam Shukla and Project Manager of the website mpinfo.org, Shri Amkeshwar Mishra, also shared important insights during various sessions. The session was conducted by Assistant Public Relations Officer Shri Anil Vashishtha of the Public Relations Department. The training programme was coordinated by Dr. Shalabh Shrivastava of MCU.
