Gujarat Titans Opt to Bowl Against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL Clash

Lucknow, April 2026 : Gujarat Titans (GT) won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 19th match of the IPL at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

After winning the toss, GT captain Shubman Gill expressed confidence in his team’s form, stating that the recent victory had boosted morale. He emphasised the importance of consistency in a long tournament like the IPL and said the team would look to avoid taking the game deep into the final over. Gill also confirmed that Gujarat Titans have retained the same playing XI for this match, reflecting stability in their lineup.

On the other hand, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant remained unfazed by the toss outcome, noting that modern pitches offer little advantage whether batting or bowling first. He highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum and focusing on one match at a time. Pant praised his team’s fighting spirit in the previous game, particularly their intent and commitment on the field, and stressed that adaptability would be key given changing pitch and match conditions. Like their opponents, Lucknow Super Giants have also gone unchanged with their playing XI.
