Lucknow, April 2026 : The annual function and talent felicitation ceremony was held on Monday at Visheshwar Dayal Inter College, located in Beligarad, Aliganj. On this occasion, the 80th monthly session of the “Grandmother’s Stories narrated by Jitesh” series was organised under the aegis of the Folk Culture Research Institute. Storyteller Jitesh Srivastava shared an inspiring story with the children, highlighting the importance of focus and consistency in life. The school manager H.N. Srivastava and Principal Sumanlata Mishra felicitated meritorious students.
The programme began with a graceful dance performance on the Saraswati Vandana, “Maa Saraswati Sharade…”. This was followed by a Ganesh Vandana, “Deva Shri Ganesha…”, and a welcome song, which created a joyful atmosphere. Young children presented charming dance performances on songs like “Aha Tamatar Bade Mazedaar” and “Chhota Bachcha Jaan Ke Na Koi Aankh Dikhana Re.” Class II students Mansi and Shagun delivered a meaningful presentation on “Eat one less roti, educate both son and daughter,” conveying an important message about education.
During the storytelling session, Jitesh Srivastava narrated a story about a spider to explain that those who get influenced by others and repeatedly leave their work unfinished often fail to achieve success.
Local councillor Man Singh Yadav attended the event as the chief guest, while Nirmal Kumar Srivastava, Principal of Triloki Singh Inter College, presided over the function. Special guests included Dr. Ramesh Chadda from Rotary Club, Sandeep Srivastava from Shohratgarh Environmental Society, Sachin Tiwari from Smile for All Society, Somendra Singh, Deepak Jain, along with senior journalist Dr. S.K. Gopal, Shambhu Sharan Verma, teachers, parents, and a large number of students.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of talented students.
