The government is focused on creating an environment where sports are not just a recreational activity but a viable career path. Recognizing the importance of early exposure, efforts are being made to encourage students to consider sports as a lifetime career, integrating sports more deeply into the educational system.
Reviving Past Glory and Developing Gachibowli as a Sports Village: The CM spoke passionately about his government’s mission to restore the past glory of Hyderabad in the sports arena. He announced plans to develop Gachibowli into a dedicated sports village, a state-of-the-art facility that will nurture and hone the skills of young athletes. This development is seen as a pivotal step in the government’s broader strategy to position Hyderabad as a leading sports destination.
Preparing for the Olympics and Launching Young India Sports University: Looking ahead to future international competitions, including the Olympics, CM Revanth Reddy revealed that the government is aiming to ensure that athletes from Telangana win medals. To achieve this, the government plans to establish the Young India Sports University in the next academic year. This institution will be dedicated to training the next generation of athletes with the help of world-renowned international coaches, providing them with top-tier training facilities and support.
International Standard Sports Stadiums and Hosting the Olympics: In his briefing to the Union Minister, CM Reddy discussed the ambitious plans to build sports stadiums across Telangana that meet international standards. These facilities will be equipped to host major global sporting events, including the Olympics.
