CBSE Class 10 Results 2026 Declared: Pass Percentage Rises to 93.70%

New Delhi, April 2026 : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced the Class 10 examination results for 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent, a slight improvement over last year’s 93.66 per cent.

The results were declared at 4 p.m. and made available through the Board’s official websites, as well as digital platforms such as DigiLocker and UMANG, allowing students to easily access their scorecards.

This year saw a large participation, with 24,83,479 students registering for the examination. Of these, 24,71,777 students appeared, and 23,16,008 successfully cleared the exams, indicating a consistent academic performance trend across CBSE-affiliated schools.

A significant number of students achieved high scores, reflecting strong academic outcomes. As many as 55,368 students, accounting for around 2.24 per cent of those who passed, secured 95 per cent and above marks. Additionally, 2,21,574 students, or approximately 8.96 per cent of successful candidates, scored 90 per cent and above. In total, nearly 2.75 lakh students fall into the high-achiever category this year.

The performance of children with special needs has also stood out. According to CBSE data, 452 such students scored above 90 per cent, while 91 students crossed the 95 per cent mark. This achievement highlights the positive outcomes of inclusive education initiatives and support systems implemented by schools and the Board.

However, not all students cleared the examination. Around 1,47,172 students—about 5.95 per cent of total examinees—have been placed in the compartment category. This figure is largely in line with last year’s 1,41,353 students. These candidates will have an opportunity to improve their scores through supplementary examinations conducted by the Board.

CBSE officials stated that the results reflect the hard work and dedication of students, along with the sustained quality of education delivered by affiliated institutions. The Board also emphasised the importance of the supplementary examination system, which provides students with a second chance to enhance their performance and avoid losing an academic year.

With its presence extending to 27 countries, ranging from Japan to Ghana, CBSE continues to be one of the largest school education boards globally. The smooth conduct of the examinations and the timely declaration of results reaffirm the Board’s commitment to maintaining a transparent, efficient, and student-friendly evaluation system.

The 2026 results once again underscore steady academic standards, strong student performance, and the growing effectiveness of inclusive education policies within the CBSE framework.
