RCB Cruise to 5-Wicket Win Over LSG as Kohli Leads Comfortable Chase

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a convincing five-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

Chasing a modest target of 147, RCB made light work of the total, reaching 147/5 in just 15.1 overs. Virat Kohli anchored the chase with a fluent 49 off 34 balls, setting the tone early. He was well supported by Rajat Patidar, who smashed a quickfire 27 off just 13 deliveries, and Jitesh Sharma, who added a brisk 23 off 9 balls to accelerate the scoring rate.

Towards the end, Tim David and Romario Shepherd remained unbeaten on 14 each, ensuring a comfortable finish for the home side.

Earlier, LSG struggled to build momentum after being asked to bat first. Mitchell Marsh top-scored with 40 off 32 balls, while Ayush Badoni (38 off 24) and Mukul Choudhary (39 off 28) provided some resistance in the middle order.

However, RCB’s disciplined bowling attack kept LSG in check throughout. Rasikh Salam Dar was the standout performer, picking up four wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided excellent support with three wickets, while Krunal Pandya and Josh Hazlewood chipped in with two and one wicket respectively.

LSG were eventually bowled out for 146, a total that proved insufficient against RCB’s strong batting lineup. The comprehensive win further strengthens RCB’s position on the points table as they continue their impressive run at home this season.
