Mothers and Sisters at the Core of Our Culture: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal, April 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Indian culture has always placed mothers and sisters at the highest pedestal. He stated that the government is firmly committed to securing rightful representation for women in the Legislative Assemblies and Parliament, and reiterated the resolve to ensure 33 per cent reservation under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, addressing a public gathering in Naryawali, Sagar, said that while the Prime Minister Shri Modi has consistently called for inclusive development, some political parties have failed to support women’s rights in the past, including opposing measures related to maintenance support. He emphasised that women may forget many things, but never their dignity, and urged them to exercise their rights decisively when given the opportunity.

Chief Minister D. Yadav, highlighting women empowerment initiatives, said that under the Ladli Behna Yojana, eligible women are receiving ₹1,500 per month. He stated that women are increasingly being given leadership roles across the state, with 17 districts having women Collectors and more than 10 districts having women Superintendents of Police. In Sagar district as well, key positions such as Member of Parliament and Mayor are held by women.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav began his address by paying tribute to Bundelkhand Kesari Maharaja Chhatrasal and Dr. Harisingh Gour. He inaugurated the programme with Kanya Pujan and lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and also distributed benefits to beneficiaries of various schemes.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated a Sandipani School in Naryawali, built at a cost of ₹27 crore, stating that it represents not just an educational institution but a symbol of India’s 5,000-year-old heritage. He referred to Lord Krishna’s education at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain as an ideal. He inaugurated 36 development works worth ₹41.07 crore and performed Bhoomi Poojan for 62 projects costing ₹17.39 crore. These include CC roads, community buildings and Anganwadi centres.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is continuously working for the welfare of the Poor, youth, and women. Under the ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’, focused efforts are being made to empower farmers. He stated that in Bundelkhand, water scarcity had adversely affected agriculture and led to migration. However, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ₹1 lakh crore Ken-Betwa river linking project will help resolve drinking water and irrigation issues, while also promoting industrial development in the region.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers are being provided temporary electricity connections at ₹5, and wheat is being procured at ₹2,625 per quintal, including a ₹40 bonus. He assured that in the coming years, procurement prices will exceed ₹2,700 per quintal. With record wheat production this year, the state has resolved to procure every grain, prioritising small and medium farmers first. He stated that the Centre has fixed a procurement target of 78 lakh metric tonnes for Madhya Pradesh, but a request has been made to increase the quota due to higher production.

He also highlighted that soybean farmers have benefited under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. Stressing the government’s commitment, he said, “What we promise, we deliver.” He noted the expansion of irrigation coverage and ongoing development in infrastructure, education, and industry.

On land acquisition, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers will be compensated at four times the collector rate, recognising land as their primary asset. He stated that alongside agriculture, emphasis is also being placed on cattle rearing and dairy to increase farmers’ income, with coordinated efforts across 16 departments under a cooperative framework.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that modern Sandipani schools in the state are outperforming private institutions, with government school students securing top positions in the 2025–26 board examinations. Girl students have excelled, and the state government is providing scooties to toppers and laptops to meritorious students. He announced that a government university will be established in Naryawali in the name of Rani Avantibai. Additional projects include a new ITI building at Jarua Khedi costing ₹10 crore, along with a 60-seater hostel and residential facilities. In total, development works worth ₹58.46 crore, including inaugurations and foundation-laying of 98 projects, were dedicated to the public. He said, highlighting regional development, that over 500 km of roads have been constructed in Bundelkhand since 2023. A new 100-bed ward is being built in the district hospital, and six new industrial zones are being developed in Sagar, along with an MSME cluster. Kadana Medium Irrigation Project to be revised, benefiting about 30,000 acres. Construction of the Makronia flyover, a new 4-lane road from Bamhori Tiraha at a cost of ₹24 crore, two new bridges and irrigation-related works worth ₹25 crore. Introduction of new industry-oriented courses in Jarua Khedi ITI and Funds sanctioned for development works in Karrapur Municipality.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput said that under Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s leadership, 2025 was celebrated as ‘Industry Year’, and its impact is now visible on the ground, especially in Bundelkhand districts like Sagar, Chhatarpur and Panna. He also emphasised farmer welfare initiatives and compensation reforms.

Member of Parliament Smt. Lata Wankhede highlighted that the river-linking project will transform the lives of farmers in Bundelkhand and increase agricultural incomes through natural farming and modern mandis.

MLA Shri Pradeep Laria said that development has accelerated in Naryawali under the Chief Minister’s leadership, including the Delhi-Nagpur Industrial Corridor, which will be developed across 600 hectares and generate employment for over 29,000 people. Several public representatives and dignitaries, including former ministers, MLAs and local leaders, were present at the event.
