CM Yogi conducts a review meeting on the development projects and law and order in Kanpur city.
Kanpur : On Thursday, following the inauguration and foundation stone laying of various development projects in Kanpur, as well as the distribution of appointment letters to thousands of youth through the Rozgar Mela, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting with officials focused on development works and law and order in the city.
The meeting took place at Naveen Auditorium, Sarasaiya Ghat, where officials presented updates on the progress within their respective departments.

During the review, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of promptly addressing citizens’ issues at the local level and, if necessary, resolving them at the government level through the Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate.
The Chief Minister also issued specific directives for a special cleanliness campaign in the densely populated Sisamau Assembly constituency. He stressed the need for proper arrangements for street lighting, fogging, sanitization, and pure drinking water, and mandated that road repairs be completed within 15 days, without fail.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of innovation in functioning across departments in the district. He instructed that public hearings should be regularly conducted within departments, and core group meetings held monthly at the district, block, and tehsil levels. He further directed officers to promptly address issues raised by public representatives, ensuring that problems concerning the general public are resolved immediately.
The Chief Minister also called for the regularization of employment and loan fairs in the city, along with the exploration of new opportunities for employment generation.
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister instructed that stray cattle in urban areas should be properly sheltered and not be seen roaming the streets. He also called for the development of a city forest along the banks of the Ganga.
Additionally, he directed the Kanpur Development Authority to establish a convention center in the city and ensure that all basic facilities are adequately provided, warning that any delays in this regard would not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to create a network of smart roads in the city by utilizing land acquired through government schemes, to minimize public inconvenience. He also urged the Kanpur Development Authority to expedite the completion of mapping work and take strict action to prevent the development of illegal colonies, ensuring a crackdown on land mafia.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister issued key directives concerning the electricity supply in Kanpur city. He emphasized that there should be improved arrangements for a consistent electricity supply and that any issues related to electricity connections should be resolved promptly.
He instructed, “There should be no illegal vehicle stands in the city, and proper multi-level parking facilities should be ensured. E-rickshaws should be assigned different colors, and their routes must be clearly defined. Additionally, there should be regular verification of e-rickshaw drivers, and any minors driving e-rickshaws should be identified, with appropriate actions taken accordingly.”
The Chief Minister also called for expediting state government schemes in the education sector. He instructed the Basic Education Department to accelerate “Operation Kayakalp” in both rural and urban areas, utilizing CSR funds as needed to speed up the work. Meanwhile, he directed the District School Inspector to enhance the quality of secondary and senior secondary education under the Secondary Education department.
The CM also tasked the District Supply Officer with ensuring the timely distribution of free rations to beneficiaries. Additionally, he ordered the Chief Medical Officer to make certain that doctors arrive at the hospital on time.
CM Yogi emphasized the importance of sports and directed that special attention be given to the prestigious Green Park Stadium. He ordered the removal of any illegal encroachments around the stadium to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for the upcoming India-Bangladesh match in September. He also instructed the Smart City Mission and the Sports Department to expedite repair work at the International Stadium.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister directed to organize a monthly meeting of the Industry Trade Board to encourage the industries of the city and said that their problems should be resolved as soon as possible. He also stressed the importance of regularly reviewing revenue disputes to resolve them efficiently.
During the review of law and order, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the removal of corruption within the police department in the district, stating that stringent actions should be taken against any police personnel found involved in corrupt practices, including dismissal from service.
He said that patrolling and foot patrolling should be increased in the city and deployment of home guards should also be increased in sensitive areas so that law and order is maintained.
Focusing specifically on women’s safety, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that under Mission Shakti, women police officers should not only ensure the security of women but also actively engage with them to raise awareness about various government schemes.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Excise and Prohibition Nitin Agarwal, Minister of State Women Welfare, Bal Vikas Evam Pushtahar Pratibha Shukla, MP Ramesh Awasthi, MP Akbarpur Devendra Singh Bhole, District Panchayat President Swapnil Varun, Mayor Pramila Pandey, MLA Saroj Kuril, Surendra Maithani, Mohit Sonkar (Rahul Bachcha), Mahesh Trivedi, Neelima Katiyar, Abhijeet Singh Sanga, Legislative Council members Arun Pathak, Manvendra Singh Chauhan, Salil Vishnoi, Avinash Singh Chauhan, Divisional Commissioner Amit Gupta, Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar, District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh, KDA VC Madan Singh, Municipal Commissioner Sudhir Kumar, and other officials were present in the meeting.
