Revanth Reddy Calls for Inclusive Development, Appeals to Maoists to Join Mainstream at Future City Event

Hyderabad, April 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday underscored the importance of inclusive governance and grassroots participation, stating that the state government is committed to working in alignment with the aspirations of local representatives. He emphasized that elected representatives—from village-level Sarpanches to Members of the Legislative Assembly—must be treated as key stakeholders in the state’s ambitious development plans.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while laying the foundation stone for the Future City Police Commissionerate at Bharat Future City in Meerkhanpet, located in Rangareddy district. On the same occasion, he also launched the construction of the Gachibowli Traffic Police Station and inaugurated several key facilities, including the Malkajgiri Commissionerate building, the OCTOPUS administrative block, and the Quthbullapur Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) office. The event was attended by senior ministers, Members of Parliament, public representatives, and top police officials.

Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy stressed that for Bharat Future City to evolve into a world-class urban center, it is essential to resolve local issues through active collaboration with public representatives at every level. He pointed out that representatives from nearby villages had expressed concerns about being excluded from the Future City limits. In response, he urged them to conduct Gram Sabhas, pass resolutions, and formally submit their requests to the district administration for inclusion.

“The benefits of development must reach every section of society. Our government is guided by the will of the people, and our vision is to transform this region into a state-of-the-art city,” he said. Highlighting the region’s investment potential, the Chief Minister noted that the government had recently hosted a three-day global summit in the area to showcase its development prospects directly at the site.

He further announced that a dedicated Future City administrative office would soon be established in the region, with construction scheduled for completion before June 2. All future operations related to the project will be managed from this office, ensuring efficient coordination and execution.

Drawing parallels with past infrastructure successes, Revanth Reddy recalled how projects like HITEC City, the Outer Ring Road, and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport were once met with skepticism but eventually became landmarks of Hyderabad’s growth. “Today, the 160-kilometre Outer Ring Road stands as a benchmark that no other Indian city has matched,” he said.

The Chief Minister assured that individuals affected by land acquisition for the Future City project would receive fair and compassionate support. He directed officials to adopt a humanitarian approach, particularly towards economically weaker sections. “The government does not intend to cause loss to anyone. If families losing land have educated youth, we will provide them with skill training and employment opportunities. Their sacrifice must be respected,” he affirmed.

Looking ahead, he outlined a comprehensive infrastructure vision for the region, including integration with Metro Rail, development of a Bullet Train hub at Shamshabad, and construction of a major bus terminal. He stated that these initiatives would significantly enhance connectivity and position the Future City as a major economic hub.

Revanth Reddy also called for continued cooperation from local representatives to ensure timely completion of projects. Acknowledging that minor lapses may occur in the process of rapid development, he urged stakeholders to maintain trust in the government’s intentions.

In a significant appeal, the Chief Minister addressed the issue of left-wing extremism, urging Maoist leader Ganapathi and others still underground to surrender and join the mainstream. He expressed concern over reports of Ganapathi’s ill health and assured that the government would provide medical care, safety, and rehabilitation support upon surrender.

“Our government believes in dialogue and peaceful resolution. We invite all those still in hiding to become partners in development. Financial assistance and rehabilitation will be extended to those who return,” he said.

Highlighting the progress made so far, the Chief Minister revealed that since 2024, as many as 814 individuals have left the Maoist movement and reintegrated into society. He concluded by reiterating that sustainable progress can only be achieved when every section of society participates in the development journey.
