Kavitha Demands Age Relaxation in TSPSC Recruitments, Warns of Agitation

Hyderabad, April 2026 : Leader of the Telangana Rashtra Sena, K. Kavitha, on Thursday demanded that the Telangana government fully implement the 10-year age relaxation policy announced in 2024 for recruitments conducted through the State Public Service Commission.

Raising strong objections to a recent recruitment notification, Kavitha called for the immediate cancellation of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) notice issued on April 20 to fill 20 Assistant Scientist posts in the Pollution Control Board. The notification prescribes an age limit of 18 to 34 years, which she argued contradicts the provisions outlined in Government Order (G.O.) 30.

Kavitha, who recently launched a new political party, warned that failure to revoke the notification and enforce the age relaxation without restrictions would lead to a large-scale agitation. She accused the ruling Congress government of going back on its promises made to unemployed youth during the elections.

“The Congress came to power with the support of unemployed youth after promising to fill two lakh jobs within two months. However, after assuming office, it has failed to issue adequate job notifications,” she said.

Highlighting the details of G.O. 30 issued on February 8, 2024, Kavitha noted that the government had extended the existing 10-year age relaxation by an additional two years. This effectively increased the upper age limit for government job eligibility from 44 to 46 years. The move was widely projected as a measure to benefit unemployed candidates across the state.

However, she pointed out that despite more than two-and-a-half years passing since the announcement, the government had not released a single major recruitment notification during the relaxation period. “Now, just as the relaxation window has expired, the TSPSC has issued a notification reverting to the standard age limit. This is completely unjust,” she said.

Kavitha described the development as a betrayal of unemployed youth, particularly those who had actively participated in the Telangana statehood movement. She alleged that the government’s actions amounted to taking away opportunities after initially raising expectations.

Calling the notification “atrocious,” she demanded that Notification No. 01/OG/PC/2026 be withdrawn immediately and that the benefits under G.O. 30 be reinstated without any conditions.

“Our party will not remain silent while the future of unemployed youth is jeopardised. We stand firmly with them and will fight for their rights,” she asserted.

Kavitha reiterated that if the government fails to act promptly, her party would mobilise protests across the state, intensifying pressure on the administration to address the concerns of job seekers.
