Revanth Reddy Promises Rapid Transformation of Kodangal into Education and Industrial Hub
Hyderabad, May 2026 : A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said that he has been dedicating at least 18 hours every day to ensure the rapid development of Telangana and transform it into one of the leading states in the country.
Addressing a large public gathering after laying foundation stones for the construction of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and several development projects in his Assembly constituency Kodangal, the Chief Minister said Telangana was currently witnessing fast-track progress across multiple sectors.
Revanth Reddy stated that his government, with the support and cooperation of the people, was committed to placing Telangana at the top in terms of infrastructure, education, industries and welfare. He said Kodangal, which has historically lagged behind in development, would soon emerge as a model constituency for the entire country.
Highlighting the government’s ambitious plans, the Chief Minister announced that Kodangal is being developed into a major educational hub. Several institutions, including medical and engineering colleges, an Advanced Technology Centre, a nursing college, a polytechnic college and a Sainik School, are being established in the region.
According to him, the educational infrastructure projects are expected to be completed within the next one-and-a-half years. The government aims to create facilities that will attract students from across Telangana to pursue higher education in Kodangal.
“We are determined to transform Kodangal into a centre of education, employment and industrial growth. The development taking place here will become an example for the entire country,” Revanth Reddy said.
On the industrial front, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a large industrial park spread across 2,300 acres at Lagacherla. He also revealed plans for a major roadway connecting Kodangal directly with the Hyderabad airport to improve connectivity and accelerate economic activity in the region.
Revanth Reddy further said that nearly 90 per cent of the Vikarabad railway line project had already been completed. In addition, a cement manufacturing industry is expected to begin construction within the next six months, which would generate substantial employment opportunities for local youth and strengthen the regional economy.
He claimed that several leading industrial groups from across India were preparing to establish their units in Kodangal, signalling growing investor confidence in the region.
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete all major development works in Kodangal by December 2027. He also appealed to local body representatives and political leaders to set aside differences and work collectively for the progress of villages and towns.
On irrigation and agriculture, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to complete the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme within the next one-and-a-half years. The project aims to bring water from the Krishna River to the drought-prone region.
He assured the public that the government would sanction the required funds and remove all obstacles to ensure timely completion of the irrigation project.
Explaining the developmental challenges faced by Kodangal, the Chief Minister noted that the constituency is located in one of the highest-altitude areas of Telangana, making access to water extremely difficult. Due to these geographical conditions, paddy cultivation was nearly impossible in the region, with farmers traditionally relying mainly on red gram cultivation.
Despite these challenges, Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that with sustained investment in infrastructure, irrigation, education and industries, Kodangal would soon witness a historic transformation and emerge as one of Telangana’s most developed regions.
