No mother worries about her daughter’s safety anymore
Situation changed under Yogi government regarding daughters’ safety, mothers now are carefree even late at night
Women say their daughters are now moving fearlessly towards their goals in a safe environment
Lucknow, May 2026 : When the environment is unsafe, a mother’s biggest concern is the safety of her daughter. Until the daughter returns home, a mother remains worried and anxious. Before 2017, mothers across Uttar Pradesh lived with this fear every day. But after the formation of the Yogi government, the situation in the state regarding the safety of women and daughters has changed significantly.
Mothers who earlier would call their daughters home before evening now say they feel much more relaxed. They believe that whether their daughters return early or late, there is confidence that they are safe. From roads to schools, colleges, markets and other public places, active police presence is helping ensure the safety of daughters.
Rajni Tripathi from Lucknow said, “My 15-year-old daughter studies in a private school. Due to cultural and educational activities, she often returns home late, but unlike earlier times, there is no constant fear now.”
She also mentioned, “During previous governments, even going out after 7 pm was difficult for families. Parents always remained worried, but now the atmosphere has changed completely. Due to strict police action and increased vigilance, troublemakers seem afraid.”
She added that under the Yogi government, she does not hesitate to send her daughter alone even at 10 pm if needed.
Kanchan Dixit, a resident of Triveni Nagar, said the government has taken effective steps to control crimes against women. She said, “The kind of environment they experienced in their teenage years is no longer faced by their daughters. Before 2017, there was fear while stepping out on the streets, but now criminals are afraid of strict action. Because of this, parents are able to send their daughters out with greater confidence.”
Mamta Nigam said, “My 17-year-old daughter studies and also goes for coaching classes in the evening. Earlier, there was constant tension if she got late, but now regular police patrolling and presence provide reassurance.”
She added, every mother’s biggest concern is her daughter’s safety, and under the Yogi government, this concern has reduced significantly.
Jyotima Singh from Ayodhya also said she has noticed major changes in law and order.
She added, “Before 2017, she always tried to ensure that her daughter returned home before evening. But now, there is no such stress. Police assistance is easily available whenever required. She added that during previous governments, criminals appeared fearless, but now there is visible control over crime.”
Lalita Pradeep from Lucknow said that the feeling of security for women and daughters in the state has certainly become stronger compared to earlier years. She said, “Women’s safety in any society is not limited only to law and order or policing, but also depends on social values and mindset. In a society where daughters and women are treated with respect, the environment naturally becomes safer. But if women are viewed merely as objects, no society can truly be considered safe.”
She added, “The Yogi government worked on both fronts by ensuring respect and safety for women and daughters while also bringing a positive change in social attitudes.”
Campaigns related to women’s safety, increased police presence on roads, Anti-Romeo Squads and quick action by authorities have brought positive changes in society. This is why mothers across the state now feel more secure about their daughters’ safety under the Yogi government.
A safer environment has also strengthened the confidence of daughters, allowing them to move fearlessly towards education, careers and their dreams.
