Chief Minister Attends Thanksgiving Function at Hmunpui
Hmunpui, May 2026: Chief Minister Lalduhoma attended a thanksgiving function organised by the residents of Hmunpui village to mark the completion of several key development projects, including a newly blacktopped road, a newly constructed Health Sub-Centre with staff quarters, and the allotment of 24 hectares of rubber plantation under the Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission. Local MLA H. Lalzirliana accompanied him during the visit.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the village road had been reconstructed under SASCI 2025–26 Part-I at a cost of ₹3 crore. He noted that the earlier PMGSY road required urgent repairs, prompting the government to take up its redevelopment to improve connectivity and ensure safer transportation for residents.
He also elaborated on the objectives of the Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission, which was launched after studying the successful rubber cultivation model in Tripura. Under this initiative, the government plans to plant more than 51 lakh rubber saplings across 11,500 hectares over a period of five years. Hmunpui has been allotted 24 hectares in the second phase of the programme, providing new livelihood opportunities for local families.
The Chief Minister further said that the newly built Health Sub-Centre and staff quarters, funded under NABARD RIDF-30, have been developed to strengthen healthcare services in the village and improve access to primary medical facilities. He described Hmunpui as an important village in the region and assured continued support from the state government for its development. He also informed that a survey is currently underway for the installation of a new power supply line to further improve infrastructure.
Local MLA H. Lalzirliana expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and appreciated the pace of developmental works being implemented in the village under the present government. He said the initiatives reflect a strong commitment to improving rural infrastructure and livelihoods.
Speaking on behalf of the villagers, Village Council Vice President Pu H. Lalduhsanga thanked the government for the new road, improved healthcare facilities, and the rubber plantation initiative, which has provided sustainable livelihood opportunities to 24 families under the Rubber Mission.
