Provide Benefits to Eligible Families by Conducting Income Verification in Parivar Pehchan Patra Through Gram Sabhas: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Reviews the Work of the Citizen Resources Information Department (CRID)
Chandigarh, May 2026 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has directed the Citizen Resources Information Department (CRID) to complete the income verification process in Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) through Gram Sabhas on a priority basis so that eligible and needy families can receive the benefits of government schemes.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while chairing a meeting with officials of CRID and the SEWA Department at the Haryana Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. He issued detailed directions regarding the functioning of the department, problems being faced in Family Identity Cards, and their resolution.
CRID Commissioner and Secretary Sh. J. Ganesan informed that many families in the state are unable to avail benefits of welfare schemes due to pending income verification. Although an Income Verification Committee is already working for this purpose, consisting of a government employee as team leader, a local operator, and a volunteer, different reports submitted by them often contain discrepancies regarding a family’s income, making it difficult to determine the actual income.
In response, the Chief Minister directed that the income figures submitted by the team leader and local operator should be presented before the Gram Sabha of the concerned village, which would verify the actual income of the family. The decision taken by the Gram Sabha would be considered final.
The Chief Minister also directed that pending age verification applications should be verified through the Additional Deputy Commissioner. He said the age of a person could also be determined on the basis of the age of the applicant’s eldest child. He instructed officials to clear all pending cases within one month.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini further directed that no individual or family should be deprived of government schemes meant for families with annual income up to Rs. 1.80 lakh merely because they have agricultural income up to Rs. 5 lakh annually.
He also instructed officials to resolve Aadhaar-linking issues related to the Dayalu Scheme by forming a joint committee comprising the District Social Welfare Officer and the Additional Deputy Commissioner. For this, he directed the SEWA Department and CRID to work in close coordination.
The meeting also discussed issues related to CRID Panchayat Local Operators (CPLOs) and Local Committee Local Operators (LCLOs). The Chief Minister directed that an orientation programme be organized soon to address their issues and provide better training. He also approved increasing the number of employees to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
Providing details about the department’s functioning, CRID Commissioner and Secretary Sh. J. Ganesan said the PPP platform developed in Haryana is one of the most unique initiatives in the country. He informed that through PPP, a total of 77,41,912 families and 2,98,47,359 members across all 23 districts of Haryana have been registered.
More than 50 departments have been integrated with PPP, through which over 400 schemes are being implemented. He also informed that the department will soon launch a new data platform named PPP 2.0 and provide PPP Smart Cards to citizens.
Additional Chief Secretary of the SEWA Department Smt. G. Anupama, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Arun Gupta, CRID Commissioner and Secretary Sh. J. Ganesan, OSD to Chief Minister Shri Vivek Kalia, State Coordinator Satish Khola, and other officials were also present in the meeting.
