DISHA Meeting Held in Khawzawl Under Chairmanship of Lok Sabha MP Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha
Khawzawl, May 2026: The District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting was held today at the DC Conference Hall in Khawzawl under the chairmanship of Mizoram Lok Sabha MP Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha. The meeting was also chaired locally by Deputy Commissioner Pu K. Vanlalthiana, who serves as the DISHA Member Secretary.
Addressing the meeting, MP Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha said that DISHA meetings are held to review the implementation of key central government schemes aimed at public welfare and to ensure coordination among departments for effective execution. He stressed that all participants in the meeting carry significant responsibility in ensuring district development and urged them to continue working with dedication for the welfare of the people.
He further noted that as departmental heads are often unable to meet frequently, the DISHA platform provides an important opportunity to share updates, review progress, and discuss areas for improved coordination and cooperation between departments. He appreciated the performance and efforts of various departments in implementing development programmes in the district and expressed gratitude for their commitment.
During the meeting, SDO Pu Chandrakant Bagoria presented updates on the implementation of various central government schemes. Heads of departments briefed the committee on their respective activities, responded to queries, and discussed their ongoing projects, future plans, and challenges faced during implementation.
The MP also assured that issues and challenges raised during the meeting would be taken up with the concerned authorities at the central level. He urged officials to carefully identify and select eligible beneficiaries under different welfare schemes to ensure that government benefits reach the intended sections of society. He also reviewed the follow-up status of decisions taken in the previous DISHA meeting.
DISHA functions as a key district-level monitoring committee for overseeing the implementation of central government schemes and ensuring inter-departmental coordination for smoother execution of development programmes.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various departments, including Rural Development, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, Lead District Manager, Urban Development (DUDO), Commerce & Industries, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Public Works Department (PWD), Civil Supplies (DCSO), Child Development Project Officers (CDPO), and Village Council leaders.
