Chandigarh, May 2026 – Haryana Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij has taken an important decision aimed at providing better, safer and more disciplined transport services to the people of the state. Under this decision, all HVAC buses of Haryana Roadways will now halt only at authorized dhabas of the Haryana Tourism Department for refreshments.

In compliance with the directions of the Transport Minister, the Director General of Haryana State Transport has issued a letter to all General Managers across the state.

Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the main objective of this decision is to provide passengers with clean, quality and reliable facilities so that they can avail refreshment services in a safe and better environment.

Sh. Vij said that the dhabas operated by the Haryana Tourism Department function in accordance with quality, hygiene and government standards. Therefore, stopping Haryana Roadways HVAC buses only at authorized tourism dhabas within Haryana will ensure better facilities for passengers and bring greater transparency and discipline to the transport system.

He further informed that clear instructions have been issued to departmental officials that under no circumstances should HVAC buses be stopped at private dhabas within Haryana territory. Necessary directions have also been issued to all drivers and conductors in this regard.

Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij clarified that if these instructions are violated at any level, strict action will be taken against the concerned driver or conductor as per departmental rules.

Sh. Vij said that the Haryana Government remains committed to providing modern, safe and improved transport services to passengers. He added that discipline, transparency and passenger convenience are the highest priorities of the Transport Department, and similar public welfare decisions will continue to be taken in the future.
