Jaipur, May 2026: Celebrating the achievement of Asian Beach Games kabaddi silver medallist Jai Bhagwan, a felicitation ceremony was held on Thursday at Jat Bhagola, Mundawar in Khairthal-Tijara district. The event witnessed the presence of Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Alwar MP Bhupender Yadav, along with several sports enthusiasts, public representatives, and villagers.

Jai Bhagwan, who brought laurels to the country and the region by winning a silver medal in the Asian Beach Games kabaddi competition, was honoured with a traditional turban by the Union Minister. Yadav described his achievement as an inspiration for the youth, saying that representing the country at the international level after emerging from a rural background is a matter of pride.

He said that Jai Bhagwan’s hard work, discipline, and dedication have infused new energy among the youth of the region and encouraged them to pursue sports more seriously.

Sports as a way of life, not just a career

Bhupender Yadav said that sports are not merely a medium for career or recognition but also a way of life. They teach discipline, perseverance, and the ability to rise again after setbacks. Sports energise the body and instil a mindset of continuous effort until goals are achieved.

He highlighted that the “Fit India” initiative launched by the Prime Minister has significantly boosted sports culture across the country. According to him, sportsmanship helps individuals remain positive in every situation.

Government support for sports infrastructure

The Union Minister said that both the central and state governments are continuously working to provide better facilities to athletes and promote a strong sports culture. He urged youth to actively participate in sports and remain dedicated to their goals.

Referring to the Alwar MP Sports Festival, he said that the event, organised over the past two years, has provided a platform to thousands of young talents. He added that athletes from the region have showcased their skills in various sports, bringing pride to the district.

He also noted that sports infrastructure in the region is being strengthened, including the development of an astro-turf hockey ground and a wrestling stadium. Special initiatives have been taken at the Sadbhavna Centre in Bambora village to promote wrestling, while a multipurpose sports stadium in Bhiwadi has completed its first phase, with the second phase already underway. He also mentioned plans to develop kabaddi stadiums and tracks at the village level with community participation.

Focus on education and technology

Highlighting developments in education, Yadav said that the earlier announcement of establishing 101 e-libraries has been surpassed, with 133 e-libraries now operational in the Alwar parliamentary constituency. These facilities are providing rural students with access to modern learning resources.

He added that 43 cluster office buildings will be developed for self-help groups. Emphasising the importance of science, technology, English, and mathematics, he urged students to build strong skills in these areas. He also appealed to public representatives to establish Atal Tinkering Labs in schools to promote innovation and technical education.

Vision for a technology-driven future

The Union Minister described the semiconductor cluster established in Salarpur as Rajasthan’s first major step towards self-reliance in semiconductor production. He expressed confidence that Khairthal-Tijara district would emerge as a major manufacturing and technology hub in the future.
