Special Preventive Drive Against Illegal Liquor: Statewide Crackdown Intensified

Jaipur, May 2026: Under the directions of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta, a special preventive campaign is being actively conducted across the state to curb the illegal manufacture, storage, transport, and sale of liquor. As part of this drive, effective actions including checkpoints, patrolling, and raids are being carried out.

The second phase of the special preventive campaign, conducted under the supervision of the Excise Department, is underway from May 20 to May 31, 2026. On May 20 alone, 16 cases were registered and 13 individuals were arrested during various enforcement operations across the state. During these actions, both country-made and foreign liquor were seized, and illicit wash was destroyed.

In a significant operation in Sirohi district, a raid was conducted in the sensitive Moras area of Paria Fali forest region, where 1,200 litres of wash stored in plastic drums was destroyed. A functional illegal distillery along with equipment was also seized during the operation.

Across all districts, intensive checkpoints, raids, and surveillance operations are being conducted as part of the campaign. Additional Excise Commissioners of all zones, Deputy Excise Commissioners, District Excise Officers, Excise Inspectors, and enforcement teams are carrying out strict action against illegal liquor activities under a zero-tolerance policy.

The department reiterated its commitment to continue strict enforcement to curb illicit liquor activities and ensure law and order across the state.
