Amit Shah to Attend Mega Tribal Cultural Conclave at Red Fort Honouring Birsa Munda
New Delhi, May 2026 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a grand “Janjati Sanskritik Samagam” (Tribal Cultural Conclave) at the historic Red Fort grounds on Sunday as the chief guest, marking the 150th birth anniversary year of legendary tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The large-scale cultural gathering is expected to witness the participation of nearly 1.5 lakh representatives belonging to more than 550 tribal communities from across the country. The conclave aims to celebrate tribal identity, indigenous traditions and the cultural heritage of India’s tribal communities while highlighting their contribution to the nation’s history and development.
The programme is being organised by the Janjati Suraksha Manch and is likely to become one of the biggest tribal cultural events ever held in the national capital.
Ahead of the event, organisers held an important preparatory meeting at Shyam Giri Temple to review arrangements related to logistics, accommodation, transportation, security and cultural activities. Representatives from various tribal groups and organising committees participated in the discussions to ensure the smooth conduct of the conclave.
According to organisers, colourful cultural processions featuring tribal men and women dressed in traditional attire will begin from five different locations across Delhi before converging at the Red Fort venue. Participants are expected to carry indigenous musical instruments and perform folk dances representing the diverse tribal traditions of India.
The event will showcase tribal folk music, dance performances, handicrafts and exhibitions displaying the rich cultural diversity of tribal communities from different states. Organisers said the conclave is intended not only as a cultural celebration but also as a platform to strengthen national unity and increase awareness about tribal heritage.
Around 100 distinguished personalities from tribal communities, including achievers in sports, education, social work and culture, are also expected to be honoured during the programme for their contributions in various fields.
